The Salinas Californian All-Star Classic displays 64 high school senior soccer players in Monterey County at a local high school stadium. In 2004, Joey Delgado, then the sports editor for The Salinas Californian, teamed up with Carlos Rubio, the executive director of the All-Star Classic, to create a committee to bring back the game after it was postponed for four years.
