Hope, Horses & Kids provides affordable access to horses for youth of all ages and abilities

HHK can tailor any program around the specific needs of a child, including special needs requiring dramatic assistance. Programs include a non-riding curriculum (safety, care and feeding, cleaning paddocks, grooming etc.), as well as longer, more academic-based structure that include horsemanship in three skill levels. There is also a planned vocational program that exposes kids to careers in the fields of veterinary science, horseshoeing, riding instruction, horse training and more.

Your support allows us to foster connection and relationships between local youth and our animals and friends met at the barn. In today’s disconnected society we truly believe this is what is needed to help raise successful students.

Our Hootenanny dinner fundraiser is coming up on September 12th. This is a great opportunity to meet the facilitators, the herd and find out more about what we do and how we are fulfilling our mission. Tickets available on our website, click below

🐴🔥 Two nonprofits. One community. So many possibilities.

Our 3rd annual Hootenanny will be held at our Rancho Cielo Youth Campus location.
Together, we’ve been bringing hands-on enrichment to youth in our community through horse exposure, blacksmithing, leadership development, social-emotional learning, Horse Powered Reading and connection 🔗

This past year, the teens of RC have been learning to blacksmith in our forge, and raise their FFA animals at our barn and we are proud and grateful to provide this space for them to be able to reconnect with nature and thrive with hands-on creativity.
The leadership skills they develop at our barn perfectly coincide with the work they do at the school, and now, we’re bringing this partnership to the table — quite literally! ❤️

Please join us for our September 12th Dinner Fundraiser, benefiting Hope, Horses & Kids and supporting the Rancho Cielo culinary team. The evening will feature a delicious dinner prepared and served by DCA, giving their students the opportunity to showcase their skills while helping support two nonprofits working together to enrich the lives of young people in our community.

It’s a night where education, opportunity, community, and connection all come together. Buy your tickets here ⬇️

We had an absolutely incredible time at the Monterey Bay Parent Magazine back to school expo at the Del Monte shopping mall in Monterey on Saturday. We met new friends, shared our love of horses, demonstrated some of our cool activities and loved on Puzzle and Georgina. They were H&M staff ambassadors for the day, and almost stole the quinciñera show!
Thank you for having us and we hope to be back again next year 🫶🏻

As a non-profit, all donations made to Hope, Horses & Kids allow for more of these moments to happen 🔗.

Community, connection, inclusion, learning.

The benefits of the human-animal relationship are immense, and we aim to provide a safe space for youth to enjoy, disconnect from screens and connect with one another and nature 🌄 This is what our future generations need more of.

One way you can support our mission is to come to our annual fundraiser dinner The Hootenanny. This year it will take place at the Rancho Cielo campus on September 12th. There are sponsor tables and single tickets available. Please reach out if you have any further questions about the event or head to our website for more info and ticket link 🎟️

Our back to school booster Horse Powered Reading®️and Horse Powered Math®️ camp was a wonderful way to kick start these students brains into gear, all while making new friends and having a lot of fun. Activities included the road to reading, where we discussed challenges some young reader have, then we built ‘ranches’ for our Pony Express alphabetizing game. Next was some quiet storytime with Bacon and Woolly (Ellie the pot belly and Dutch stood in as the main characters in the story 😂). A little math racing game brought the energy back up later on followed by a brilliant activity where kids name challenges that they have while getting ready for school in the mornings - getting out of bed was mentioned more than once!! 🫪
We had such a great day and will be bringing more HPR®️specific camps to the barn!
