Man what a weekend and where do I begin. The last few weeks we have been struggling behind the wheel. Lots of nerves, trouble passing, just feeling so defeated. Anyone that knows how kids in race cars are knows the best description is, it’s like a light switch that goes on and sometimes off out of no where. Well ours went out. This weekend it flipped back on. At a national race in a parking lot track of all places, which generally isn’t a strength of ours.

Jr 160: C ➡️ B ➡️ X car in the main where we didn’t ever make it out.

Jr Honda: We finished 6th in the A main out of 28 cars.

This little guy drove his tail off this weekend and definitely regained his confidence. We couldn’t be prouder of him. We came home with both cars fully in tact!

Last night was a late one. We transferred from the Jr 160 C main to the B main. Not sure how he pulled it off because 5 minutes before racing he was asleep in the hot chute awaiting his race. For today we’re in a rain delay and waiting to run that B main and run our Jr Honda A main. So for now we recover some missed sleep and recoup from yesterday!

This weekend was a rough one. By far the worst we have ran all season. We had a good car but our driver just wasn’t in the game and didn’t seem like himself. We asked him multiple times if something was wrong and he continuously told us no there wasn’t. Today I take him to the doctor for a cough and his asthma and we come out with not only an upper respiratory infection but strep throat. I ask him again if he knew his throat hurt and he says “yeah mom I knew it hurt but I wanted to race. Every time I would cough with my visor shut I couldn’t see anything because of the fog 🥴.” Definitely my least favorite race of the year and now we have our work cut out for us! We’re supposed to race Millbridge tomorrow but we will see how he is feeling after a day of steroids and antibiotics.

Well this wasn’t the weekend we hoped for.

Junior Honda transferred from the C to be B where a wreck happened right in front of us that we couldn’t avoid. We bent the axle so badly that the car was done for.

Junior 160 we never made it a lap in the A main before getting ran over under yellow. We went under medical red because Lawson hurt the same leg we have already broken once. We’re walking on it so no broken bones. We think he bruised the bone. That ended our 160 day as well and bent yet another axle.
