You’ve possibly had a lot of commitments this week as the school year wraps up. Why not set some downtime for yourself before the holiday weekend kicks in and you’re on the go again.
Subbing SLOW FLOW tomorrow!
Slow Flow moves at a slower pace helping to soothe the nervous system, giving one time to mindfully find alignment and incorporating props to help with each transition.

“From the Ground Up”
While yoga emphasizes our physical, mental and spiritual well being it is our feet that provides the “foundation” in the asana practice.
👣
Each standing posture begins in our feet, and how we engage them creates a “chain reaction” dictating stability, and alignment of our knees, hips, and spine.
Through the upward motion of the toes and the downward action of the big toe mound cultivates and activates our feet to build a strong foundation.
👣
The soles of our feet contain roughly one third of the body’s proprioceptive nerve sensors. Awareness to this area during practice brings a sense of grounding, stability, and balance to the present “from the ground up”.

Did you know?
When we practice tree pose, we are building, and developing strength in our legs, glutes and core. One leg standing postures also cultivate proprioception (body awareness) which has an important role in coordinated movements, maintaining balance and controlling body posture, helping to reduce the risk of falls as we age.
