What a great time we had out exploring along these beautiful, historic trails. The weather was fantastic with warm days and a perfect crisp spring night around the campfire. Couldn't have been better!

A lone rider galloping along as fast as he can though the vast and empty desert. This is the romantic image so often associated with the American West, and specifically with the Pony Express.

That brilliantly flawed mail delivery service promised "10 days to San Francisco" from New York. In 1860, that was lightning fast. But by the next year, the transcontinental telegraph line had been completed, and the Pony Express was out of business in just 19 months. But while it only existed for a short time, the legend, and the route that it took through Utah's west desert live on today!

If you’re looking to start your spring off with a fun and history packed overland adventure, look no further than the historic Pony Express Trail. You hit dirt just outside of Faust and travel 115 odd miles to the Nevada border though some spectacular scenery, past historic old Pony Express Stations, some of the most beautiful mountains in the state!
