Align and Refine: Triangle pose! 🔺At Arrichion we practice triangle pose- a full body workout. Most common mistakes I see are 1) front knee drifting past toes, 2) torso collapsing on thighs (this doesn’t build strength or flexibility), 3) and not sinking deep into the lunge.

Fitness is a journey and it is different for everyone…. 🏋️♀️
The picture on the right was taken in early 2019. I didn’t workout consistently. But I was a size 2 and a small in everything. While I might have been small… I wasn’t fit.
I don’t have any pictures between 2020 and 2022. I gained about 20 pounds. As a public health employee I was responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. While it was a blessing I got to work from home… I was sitting at a desk for 16 hours a day 6 days a week. I ordered a lot of take out just to get through my crazy days. I might have gained weight but my body also changed in a very different way. I wasn’t a young adult anymore. I went to a size 4 (still am a size 4) and a lot of medium sized clothing with a couple of smalls.
I made the decision in November of 2020 to find a fitness regimen. Sitting in front of the computer was so bad for my body…. I found Arrichion and have been consistently going since. To be honest, I am still only 5lbs down from my highest weight. But I look fit! My posture has changed so much. My body feels strong and healthier. While I may have chronic back issues, I am strong enough to prevent injuries that I used to get.
I’ve had to learn to accept my “new body”. I will never go back to being a size 2. And that’s ok. The process has been difficult. But the progress is unreal. Don’t try to dictate your journey. Ride the wave and see where your ambitions take you 🔥🔥🔥

Yoga is for every body! I am so proud of my mom . She’s 64 years old and she’s been coming to hot yoga. 🤦♀️ I can already see huge improvements in her balance and flexibility. There is a big misconception that you have to be amazing flexible and fit to do yoga. That’s the furthest thing from the truth! We practice yoga to improve our health. I am glad I get to share my Arrichion family with you mom ❤️

🐬Dolphin is a great shoulder and an strengthener! It also stretch’s the chest, shoulders, hamstrings, calves, and ankles. It’s also great prep work for headstands!
Focus on getting your back flat first. If you need to bend your knees to do it, that’s ok. The flexibility will build over time. Hips are lifted towards the ceiling. Once your back is flat then start to straighten the legs. Last thing and ultimate goal is to get your heels down flat on the mat. Most common mistake I see are leaning too far forward, there is little to no weight in your shoulders! And elbows flaring out. Work on keeping your elbows about shoulder width distance.
