Utah Racing League is coming in 2026

The Utah Racing League 2026 is an expanded cycling series that builds on the success of the Utah Crit League. It now encompasses all four major disciplines of Road Cycling: Road Racing, Criterium, Hill Climb, and Time Trials. The series features a points system with individual discipline series and an overall score, encouraging competition across different cycling formats.

Duration: Mid-March to the first week of June
Total Events: 17, including 2 UCA Championship Events

We are excited to announce that for the rebirth of the Snowbird Hill Climb Fueled by First Endurance, part of the Legacy Mountain Estate Utah Hill Climb Series p/b Wolf Creek Resort that we will be giving away to the first 100 riders to register a one of a kind T-Shirt.
This will be a collector’s item with only 100 being printed. Be sure and register for the series or just Snowbird both will count towards the first 100.
We will be showing the design in the coming weeks and a new award for the riders who race all four races will also be coming out shortly.

RaceDay Event Management is excited to announce that for the second year in Legacy Mountain Estates and Wolf Creek Resort along with two new developments Osprey and Cobabe Ranch are sponsoring the Utah Hill Climb Series.
With two new climbs this year of Powder Mountain and Big Cottonwood Canyon (Snowbird) have been added to the series, returning are Emigration and Suncrest.
With two mass starts and two time trial starts this will give everyone differ types of races to try. We will also have a High School Challenge Fat Tire race at the Snowbird race for those high school riders who want to give it a try.

The Utah Women in Cycling Panel Discussion was a great success. With over 50 women in person and online. If you missed it here is a recording of the talking points. There were some great ideas and input that we will now take a few days to shift thru and come up with some plans. Thanks to Breanne for putting this together.

Thanks for the questions about Utah Cycling Events; I will try to answer your questions.

About 8-9 years ago we started to see ridership in Utah start to decline for a number of reasons, some of these reason we could not address as a community, some we could have.
Clearly Covid over the past two years has not helped but there were things that we could have done.

I was approached by some concerned parties and after about 9 months of talking we decide that we needed to do something or road cycling in the state. This lead to the start of Utah Cycling Events, what started out as a way to highlight events that the director wanted to produce their and meet a set of standards that provide for safe, well run events. To continue however there are events that may choose to run their events without the meeting the standards which is their choice.

Utah Cycling Events decide that all events that are permitted through USA Cycling would be listed in the event calendar in year one, we may decide to extend the calendar to other event types and non-USA Cycling permitted events in year two, that is still to be decided. Events that meet the criteria for Gold Star Events will have additional information and results posted on the site and Event directors will have access to a large pool of Equipment that will help them meet the standards set forth.

Utah Cycling Events Does not own any events, RaceDay Event Management owns some of the event and even though I started and will manage Utah Cycling Events this does not mean that I can just choose to put event over the top of other events. I have reached out to every event director and asked them about their events and have kept the race calendar updated daily with additions and changes.
To continue to see a rebirth and growth in road cycling we also decide to work on the community side as well. The website reflects the continued effort to get more people riding together and allow for there to be an entry point to the racing side; this is how thigs were when I started to ride and race.
We are adding programs and keeping them updated as new information and details come in.
The biggest thing that we can do this time of year are group rider and we have started a list to help you find those rides, this is going a little slower than planned but is growing.

I guess the bottom line is that I am committed to growing the road side back to what it was in the pasted. I would encourage you to go the website spend a few minutes going through the Event Rules to be a Gold Star Event so you can rest assured that those events will meet the requirements
