A big basket bag for a customer cargo bike. Made with waxed canvas and a recycled nylon liner. Excited to see it on the bike!

After days of biking over rainy mountain passes on rough roads the bags are still holding strong. The recycled Xpack fabric has been holding up great to the abuse and the moisture. I kept the construction as simple as possible to save weight, only adding support where needed. On the last day of the mountains the bumpy roads broke my little homemade bag support stay, but with the bags stiff fabric and internal structure it worked great even without it.

A new prototype I’m testing for a production bag. Slightly bigger than the micro sling and optimized for waist carry, but also able to be used as a sling. This pack has padded back panel and padded side wings for extra comfort and stability. Straps can tuck away for use as a handlebar bag, or just for storage. Inside there is a small pocket separator to keep small items secure. On the bottom of the pack is another daisy chain that allows you to strap on additional items such as a jacket, bottle, or a fishing rod. Would you like to see some of these bags get made?

Kawa Mussete bags are going live on the website tonight! Here’s an example of some of the stuff you can carry. It easily fits MacBook airs, iPads, notebooks, and the zipper pouch is perfect for small items like pencils, phones, and wallets. Let me know if you have any questions about the new bag!

Just finished making a bunch of Kawa Musette bags that will be going on the website next week along with a couple other new items! These musette shoulder bags are made from heavy duty fabrics and have two separate pockets for sorting items. Perfect for carrying the essentials on a quick ride to your favorite coffee shop.

New panniers on the bike! The shape is designed to give a bit of extra room while still keeping a low profile for hike a bikes, and giving it a bit more classic feel. With a light internal aluminum frame, foam lined back, and adjustable voile strap system, these should be ready for the roughest roads out there.

A set of waxed canvas panniers for my personal bike. Kept these nice and simple with a rolltop and flap closure with metal hooks for extra durability. Inside is lined with 500d ripstop so these should last for quite a while. Hopefully will be able to get some pictures on the bike soon.

Some shots from the start of this years , and both repping some Kawa gear on the 730 mile single track and dirt road loop. Thomas had some mechanicals in the first couple days but finished strong on the short course, and Ian is still crushing it in the west desert!
