Here's a brief video if you wanted to practice some kicking at home.
I also have some bad news. Due to the pandemic and life circumstances, I'm not going to be teaching karate at Northwest any longer. As most of you know, I've been living in Ogden for the past couple of years, and with the amount of work that I'm doing, it's becoming more exhausting to drive into Salt Lake during the work week. I'm also trying to finish my PhD, which has added another layer of work.
I'm not sure what I will be doing in the future, but if I stay in Ogden, I may try to start a karate class out here. I know that that is a long drive for you, but all of you would be more than welcome, and I will let you know if I do start a class in Ogden. Teaching karate is one of the greatest joys of my life, and you have been a wonderful group of students. If I'm not able to work with you in the future, I hope that you are able to find another karate school to train at. I don't know the other instructor who was teaching at Northwest, but I've heard good things about him.
This has been a tough year for all of us, and I hope that all of you and your families are doing well. I'll try to post to this page more often with some videos if you're training on your own. And I hope that you are!

I just wanted to update everyone on training. The recreation center is still closed, so we won't be having any classes in May. When the center does open up, we'll still need to make some decisions about whether or not we should resume classes. Although karate training is important, it is much more important that you, your family, and your friends remain healthy. I will take this month-to-month, but from what I am seeing, it is likely that we won't start training again until the fall. I'll keep posting training videos to help with your home training. I hope that all of you are well!
