MHHS Talkin' Tiger's Speech & Debate Team

Hello, everyone!
As you may know, the Mountain Home Speech and Debate team has three national qualifiers this year. That said, the trip to Birmingham isn't a cheap one, so we are doing some fundraising!
Tomorrow, March 25th, Mountain Home Auto Ranch is having a Ram Test Drive event, and for every person that test drives a Ram/completes a survey, we get $10 for our trip!
Not only that, but everyone who fills out a survey is entered into a drawing for a free two-year lease on a brand new Ram truck!
If you could come and help us out tomorrow, it would be greatly appreciate!

Reminder: There is a team time tomorrow, Monday the 21st, from 10-2 in Petti's classroom! It's a potluck, so don't forget food. ☺️

The Mountain Home Talkin' Tigers are looking for volunteers for the Mountain Home Country Music Festival on July 29-31! Wish our national qualifiers--Lexi Ogaard, Logan Potter, and Joe Garrett--as they head to Salt Lake City tomorrow to prepare for competition in the National Speech and Debate Tournament next week!

Congratulations to our national qualifiers from the Mountain Home Talkin' Tigers! Lexi Ogaard and Joe Garrett qualified in duo interpretation and Logan Potter qualified in the House for congressional debate. Great job to everyone who competed this weekend!

Hello all of you lovely Talkin' Tigers followers! As some of you know, our home tournament, U-Bus-2-Us, is on February 12-13th! We are super excited, but we really, REALLY need judges. If any of you can judge, please message me, and I'll get you signed up! Thanks in advance!

Wish our Talkin' Tigers luck today as they head to Mountain View to compete in the Running of the Bulls! Results to be posted tomorrow night after the awards ceremony. 😊

BIG thank you to all the novices and varsity students that went to Metro this weekend.
Here are the results:
Jenna Crowe--2nd Place in Oratorical Analysis.
Joe Garrett & Lexi Ogaard--1st Place in Duo Interp.
Logan Potter--3rd Place in Impromptu.
Elisabeth Stephens--2nd Place in Serious Interp.
Joe Garrett--1st Place in Humorous Interp.
We also had several teams go 3-1 in debate on Saturday!

The part of our team that we brought to University of Utah! Here's the highlights of our trip:
1.) Lexi Ogaard and Joe Garrett qualified for the Speech TOC after placing first in duo interp.
2.) Logan Potter and Joe Garrett were semifinalists in Public Forum, while Lexi Ogaard was an octofinalist in Lincoln Douglas.
3.) Katheryn Lohmeier and Lexi Ogaard were in the top 25 best speakers in Lincoln Douglas, and Logan Potter was of the top 10 in Public Forum!
Overall, we all had great records and a wonderful time.
Congrats to everyone that went, and let's get excited for another fantastic season!
