Since ancient times, there have always been schools dedicated to preserving and teaching the very highest truths and mysteries of life — places where people could go to remove themselves from the distractions of day-to-day life and one-pointedly immerse themselves in a supportive, nurturing environment, emerging enriched and transformed. Today, and especially in the West, this tradition has been l

argely replaced by schools that almost exclusively emphasize rational learning. We find very few schools that focus on discovering the real nature of the Self. The Amrit Yoga Institute is such a place, dedicated to serving and awakening the very highest within all who come here with trainings, workshops, and spiritual lifestyle opportunities that nurture the soul. The Amrit Institute is situated on a secluded 6-acre property in a lush setting with a towering canopy of large, shady oaks, and formal gardens with Chattahoochee stone decks and walkways. The Main House and Recreation Lodge can accommodate small programs and a number of guests. Our lakefront property and beautiful grounds provide a tranquil, restful, natural setting ideal for restoring your health and reconnecting to the spiritual source

Ongoing Local Community Classes and Programs:
The Amrit Yoga Institute offers classes, satsangs and kirtans throughout the year to the public. Most programs are free to the public, although donations are gratefully accepted.

A sincere question opens the door.

Faith points toward direct experience.

Consciousness reveals the inner meaning.

In this exchange, Gurudev Shri Amritji responds to a student asking about God, Jesus, and the meaning of coming to God through Christ.

Rather than approaching the question as an argument of belief, Gurudev points toward the inner dimension of spiritual realization. He speaks of Christ as consciousness, a realized state that is deeper than personality, history, or outer identity.

This is a meaningful bridge between devotion and direct experience.

In I AM Yoga®, the path leads inward toward the Presence that is already within you. The teachings invite you to go beyond identification with the body, mind, thoughts, and emotions, and to recognize the witnessing consciousness that remains present through all experience.

For those who come from a devotional tradition, this teaching can be received as a reminder that the sacred is not distant. It is discovered through stillness, sincerity, and the awakening of consciousness within.

This short exchange honors the question while pointing back to the universal movement of spiritual life: returning from separation into Union.

Every night in deep sleep, you touch a peace beyond the mind.

Yet you wake with no memory of having been there.

Meditation is how you enter that depth awake.

In a recent Darshan, Gurudev Shri Amritji drew a beautiful distinction between sleep and meditation, two doorways to the same inner ground.

In deep sleep, he explained, you release your hold on the thinking mind and rest in the energy body. For those hours you are no longer identified with the ego and its worries.

There is real rest there, yet it happens below awareness. You arrive unconsciously, and you return with nothing you can carry into your day.

Meditation opens the same depth with one crucial difference. You enter it consciously.

The mind grows quiet and settled, and you rest in that same stillness while remaining fully aware.

In Gurudev's words, sleep is union with the Self while temporarily disconnected from the ego, and meditation is union while consciously connected.

One simply happens to you. The other, you can learn to enter on purpose.

This is why the practice changes daily life. As you learn to carry that conscious stillness into your waking hours, you stop reliving the patterns of the past on endless repeat.

You meet each moment fresh, from Presence, rather than through the filter of what has already been.

If this speaks to you, share it with someone who needs it.

We often wait for help to arrive the way we imagined it.

And we miss the help that is already here.

Grace usually comes in ordinary form.

In a recent Darshan, Gurudev Shri Amritji shared a well-loved teaching story about a man caught in a great flood.

As the waters rose, the man climbed to safety on the branch of a tree and began to pray, trusting that God would come to rescue him.

Before long a boat arrived, and the boatman called out, "Come, let me take you."

The man refused. "No, no," he said. "I am waiting for God."

A second boat came, and again he waved it away, certain that his rescue would arrive in some greater form.

The waters kept rising, and the man was lost. When he stood before God, he asked, heartbroken, "I was waiting for you. Why did you never come?" And God replied, "I sent you two boats."

The teaching is gentle and humbling. We pray for help, then overlook it because it does not match our expectations.

Grace rarely arrives with thunder. It comes as the ordinary boat, the timely word, the open door, the quiet chance we almost dismiss.

Perhaps the help you have been waiting for is already near, wearing a plainer face than you expected. Presence is the willingness to notice it.

If this speaks to you, share it with someone who needs it.

Two hours can pass like a few minutes.

It happens whenever attention fully arrives.

This is a taste of the timeless.

In a recent Darshan, Gurudev Shri Amritji described something many of us have felt without understanding. When we are completely absorbed in the present, time seems to disappear.

He often notices it while teaching. An hour passes, sometimes two, and when he asks how many in the room felt it went very, very fast, most hands go up.

This is not a trick of the mind. It is a sign that awareness has settled into the present moment, into what Gurudev calls the timeless zone of now.

Ordinary time is measured by the mind as it moves from one thought to the next, one wanting to the next. When the mind grows quiet and attention rests fully in what is here, that measuring stops.

Two hours and two minutes begin to feel the same, because you have stepped out of clock time and into Presence.

You have likely tasted this already, lost in something you loved, so present that the hours dissolved. That absorption is a doorway.

The practice simply teaches us to enter it on purpose, again and again, until Presence becomes a place we can return to at will.

A machine can hold information.

It cannot hold Presence.

Some things pass only from being to being.

In a recent Darshan, a student asked Gurudev Shri Amritji a question very much of our time.

Could a tool like artificial intelligence ever become an ultimate teacher for humanity?

Gurudev's response drew a clear and important line. Such a tool can carry information, and it can do remarkable things. Yet there is something it cannot do. "It cannot teach by example," he said. It cannot be enlightened, and so it cannot transmit enlightenment.

The reason reaches to the heart of this tradition. Real teaching is more than the exchange of words. When a teacher is connected to the source within, something is transmitted beyond language, an energetic presence that touches those nearby.

This is the heart of Darshan, of sitting with a living teacher. Much of what passes between them is silent.

Information can be copied endlessly. Presence cannot. It moves only from one awakened being to another, in the shared field of direct contact.

This is why the path has always been passed person to person, heart to heart, and why no tool can stand in for that living connection.

Let this be an invitation to seek what words alone cannot give: the felt transmission of a teaching that is lived, not merely described.

If this speaks to you, share it with someone who needs it.

One invisible source gives rise to every visible form.

The formless is always becoming the world we see.

Creation is the one expressing as the many.

In a recent Darshan, Gurudev Shri Amritji illuminated one of the oldest teachings of yoga. The entire visible world arises from a single unseen source.

He offered a simple image.

Think of a potter and a lump of clay. From one material, countless shapes can be formed, each one different, yet all made of the same substance. Or think of electricity. From one current come heat, cold, and light, many expressions of a single invisible power.

Creation works this way.

The formless source expresses itself as the endless forms of the world, mineral, plant, animal, and human, each a unique shape of one underlying energy.

The forms change and pass.

The source remains, whole and untouched.

This reaches into your own experience. Beneath every changing thought, feeling, and sensation, you too are an expression of that one formless source.

The shapes your life takes are many. What you are, at the deepest level, is the single Presence appearing as all of it.

To rest in that recognition, even for a breath, is to feel your kinship with everything that lives.

One source. Countless forms. All of it, including you, arising from the same silent ground.

If this speaks to you, share it with someone who needs it.

We did not make the earth beneath us.

We did not make the water, the fire, or the air.

Yet from these given gifts, we build a whole world.

In a recent Darshan, Gurudev Shri Amritji drew a clear and humbling line between what is given to us and what we make of it.

The elements themselves, earth, water, fire, and air, were not created by human hands. They are the ground of life, already here, offered to us.

What we do is learn their nature, study how the world takes form, and work skillfully with what we have been given.

Gurudev calls this understanding science: the knowledge of how creation manifests, put to use.

There is deep humility in seeing this clearly. Everything we shape, every tool and structure and discovery, begins with materials we did not originate.

We are gifted with a living world and invited to participate in it with awareness and care, as stewards rather than owners.

This changes how we meet an ordinary day.

The breath you did not make is breathing you.

The ground you did not build is holding you. T

o receive all of it with gratitude is itself a practice, a quiet remembering of the source that provides.

If this speaks to you, share it with someone who needs it.

The same life moves through you and through the cosmos.

What flows in the breath flows through the stars.

The yogis called this the secret of the two bodies.

In a recent Darshan, Gurudev Shri Amritji described one of the oldest insights of yoga. The life-giving intelligence at work inside you is the same intelligence at work throughout all of creation.

He spoke of the pranamaya kosha, the energy body woven of prana, through which life carries out its functions within us.

The breath, the flow of energy on the left and the right, what the tradition names Ida and Pingala, the sun and moon of our inner world, all move life through the body.

"What is in the microcosm of the individual human body is in the macrocosm of the cosmic body," Gurudev taught.

The same currents that sustain you sustain the universe.

This is the secret the yogis knew.

You are not a small, separate thing set apart from a vast creation. You are a living expression of the same energy that animates everything.

The cosmos is not far away. It is breathing in you now.

To feel this, even briefly, is to sense that you were never truly separate. The whole moves through the part, and the part belongs to the whole.

If this speaks to you, share it with someone who needs it.
