Due to the passing of Councilman R.B. Henderson, the Town of Saltville is accepting letters of interest from qualified registered citizens of the Town of Saltville who wish to be considered for appointment to the vacant Town Council seat.
The individual selected will serve an interim appointment through December 31st, 2027. A special election will be held on November 2nd, 2027, to fill the vacant seat for a term beginning January 1st, 2028, and ending December 31st, 2028.
Letters of interest must be received by 12:00pm on September 21st, 2026. Letters received after the deadline will not be accepted.

Letters of interest will be reviewed at a Public Hearing on September 23rd, 2026, at 7:00pm Council will take action to make the appointment at a Special Called Meeting beginning at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 30th, 2026.
