Let us remember today, in particular, that no one…..NO ONE AND NOTHING….can take away our power to love, to be kind, to offer grace, and to show up for what’s right, one day at a time, one person at a time.
Ship are not righted in their course with great sharp, violent turns of the wheel, but with incremental, but consistent shifts in the right direction.
Little by little, we arrive at our destination.
Dr. King had this wisdom, using peaceful protest and consistent action that stood in stark contrast to the powers at be.
He was a light in the darkness, never dimming or faltering, even under threats that eventually took his life.
But he lived his life knowing, that his efforts mattered for the world that would exist well past the expiration of his body.
He lived for a purpose. He acted for a purpose. He saw that his life played a role in a greater story, just like it is for all of us.
I hope that today, as we remember Dr King, and look into an unknown future, that we can follow his vision of love & brotherhood, recognizing the power of our own lives to make a difference, one person at a time, one moment at a time.
Thank you Dr. King🙏🏼

Left, right, red, blue, Elephants, donkeys……
Today let’s take a break from identifying with, and “fighting for our side” on any level, and give just 1 day’s worth of attention to gratitude, for the military personnel who put their lives on the line, to protect our freedom to disagree and dissent, as well as our freedom to commune and worship, as we are called.
Maybe today, when we catch ourselves angry and despairing about the current state of the nation, and the world, we can consciously choose to turn that thought towards a veteran in our lives, and send them a silent “thank you”, or better yet TELL THEM in some way, that their service is appreciated.
Or don’t.
That’s the beautiful thing about America: ya don’t gotta, if ya don’t wanna.
But gratitude has a sneaky way of filling the cup of both the giver and the receiver……so maybe do yourself a favor, and after taking a reflective moment to savor the peace, safety, abundance and freedom of your American life, send some of that gratitude to a vet you know, so that good feeling can be amplified for both of you.
We’re all in this together.
Sending every American veteran a humble and sincere THANK YOU for your service.🙏🏼

It’s so strange that some who will see this post, don’t remember that day…..they were weren’t born, or were too young to recall the images on TV, of the day the world changed forever.
Those of us old enough to remember, can recall the exact moment when we heard what was happening; I was in my office in North Carolina, when a colleague ran in, with a look of terror on his face, yelling “They bombed the World Trade Center!”
We ran to the office kitchen TV, and watched in real time, as the 2nd plane hit.
It was….unbelievable; that word is used so inappropriately…..irresponsibly, even.
But it applied to that moment; I could literally feel my brain twist. How is this possible? This can’t be real.
Do you remember that feeling?
That moment altered the very fabric of our collective reality; it changed our self image, our sense of “place” in the world, and especially, it brought into question just how capable we were, of sticking to our values and beliefs, in light of legitimate threat and terror; the verdict is still out on that one.
But one thing that was CRYSTAL CLEAR in the aftermath of that day, was our profound capacity to come together as a people, to support each other and rebuild from the literal and spiritual damage of that morning.
We were reminded of what REAL heroism looks like…..it’s gritty and good; it’s running up the stairs, whenever everyone else is running down, not for personal glory but because you feel the call to help, and heed it, without questioning your cost.
As I reflect on that morning, and the aftermath, I can’t help but think of just how much we ALL need to remember the gritty and good; now more than ever, as our country is more divided than we’ve been in decades, if not centuries, we need to find a way to honor those who lost, and gave, their lives that day, by tapping into the core values we share with each other as a nation: love of our children, the desire for peace, safety, prosperity and community.
So maybe today, as we honor those we lost that morning, and in the war that followed, we can remember not just the smoke & terror, but also who we’re capable of becoming, when we see each other, as we see ourselves.

Today, we honor the helpers….
We remember those who died that morning, as well as those who would die in the years to come, on account of the fear, political ambitions, and poor judgments of those in power.
But the helpers….they ran in while others ran out.
They stayed strong so others could be held.
They saved strangers, at the risk of being lost to their own loved ones.
They showed us, and show us, what it means to embody the best of human nature.
There are countless judgments to be made in any tragedy, but none of that brings what we need most in those moments: hope🙏🏼
Thank you to all the helpers that morning, not only in New York, DC and Pennsylvania, but all the helpers everywhere, every day.
You bring us hope in the darkest of days.
We will never forget🙏🏼

Real talk: training in a way that actually creates change….
That uses progressive loads, intensity, and full body engagement….
Requires that your muscle fibers are broken down, so that they can be rebuilt stronger.
This process involves inflammation…and you’re gonna be sore from time to time.
No biggie.
But if the inflammation and soreness is nagging ya, and holding you back from feeling good, and being consistent in your routine, you can get support to keep moving….
You can get support to Play On!!
PlayOn's™ DuraCool™ time-release sweat-resistant technology rapidly delivers long-lasting joint and muscle pain relief. Enhance your performance and speed up recovery.
We’re proud to carry PlayOn at RVC🎉
It works!🔥
It’s natural!🙌🏼
And it smells good!🤣
