sweet riding bike now, and Colson (Elyria, Ohio) sold to Evans Products of Michigan in 1954 and continued to 1962 as Evans Colson, and then just Evans...

meanwhile, 17 years later, this is what your bearings should look like on your LKM rebuilt Schwinn town bike, when ridden and properly stored indoors...the chain on the other hand was never changed and was toast 5-10 years ago, ouch...
DO NOT over-grease your bearings, about 100% of the time when we take apart others older work, we find a 1/2 tub of grease living everywhere, it is not needed...

for the customer, #1941 Cleveland Welding Co. All American tamBomber, cruiser, klunker on the road again...this one has a circa 1980 2.125" steel heavy duty 105g wheelset with Suntour rear and maybe Joytech front hubs...
completely unrideable when received, started by cutting off the rusty chain with the high-speed carbide cutter to start the party, many parts added, all good now...forgot to take a before pic...

AVAILABLE- 1949 Schwinn DX LKM Kustom Hot Rod in Ivory...now with handbuilt alloy powder coated Ivory rims with Bendix and Schwinn script hubs...correct original rebuilt Mesinger saddle...
used an early Flyer badge in brass with white, don't want to draw too much attention to the badge when building art...other badges and saddles are always available if the new owner needs something different...

AVAILABLE- there is a limited supply of the girl bikes left in the shop, this is a Super Clean #1974 Schwinn Breeze 3 Speed in the rare Chicago factory original Opaque Blue paint, used on the Breeze models ONLY in 1974...
this one is the smaller frame size and will fit a rider from under 5 feet to much taller...

AVAILABLE- the latest build in the LKM late 1970's Mt.Tam Tribute klunker series... the frame used has Tam provenance, ridden on the mountain in the late 70s/early 80s as a single speed coaster... #1941 Schwinn DX and orig. Ludwigs badge, built with 2 derailleurs (french word), lots of gears, and brazed on cantilevers for big stopping, it was a brave new world...
