As I stand here in my femininity, beauty, and power, I want to wish you a Happy Black History Month ✊🏽🥰

This is one of my favorite months of the year being that it’s dedicated to promoting black excellence and celebrating black achievements.

I want to be sure to do some of that this month too.

So, what is credit & why is it important?

Let’s break it down:

💳 Credit is your financial tool for making big purchases, even if you don’t have all the cash upfront. It’s like a friendly lender (often a bank) giving you the funds for things you need, such as a car or a home. In return, you agree to pay back that money over time, sometimes with a bit extra (interest) as a thank-you.

Now, why is it important?

Well, because having good credit opens up opportunities.

It can help you secure a mortgage for your dream home, get a car loan, or even start and/or fund a business.

Think of it as a key that unlocks the doors to financial possibilities.

And here’s a quick tip:

Always pay back what you borrow ON TIME to maintain a positive credit history. This builds trust with lenders and makes it easier for you to access credit when you need it most.
