💪⛳ GET A GRIP – PART 1
How strong is your golf grip?

In the first installment of our new Get a Grip series, Dick Logan puts his hands to the test using a dynamometer to measure grip strength.

The results? His lead hand came in weaker than his trail hand.
Why does that matter?

For right-handed golfers, the lead hand plays a major role in controlling the clubface throughout the swing. A weakness in the lead hand can affect consistency, control, and overall ball striking.

The good news? Grip strength can be improved.
Over the next several episodes, Dick will share simple exercises and training methods designed to increase grip strength and help golfers build a stronger foundation for their game.

Watch Part 1 and see how your grip strength compares!

🏌️‍♂️ Dick Logan's Golf Tool Box Series – Long Clubs

One of the biggest mistakes golfers make is reaching for the driver on every par 4 and par 5.

Sometimes the smartest play is a 3-wood or 4-wood, especially when the fairway narrows or trouble comes into play.

A well-struck fairway wood produces a penetrating ball flight that can still travel a long distance while offering more control than a driver. Learning when to use these clubs can save strokes and keep you in position to score.

When it comes to the driver, tee height is one of the most overlooked fundamentals. Tee it too low and you'll struggle to launch the ball. Tee it too high and you may sacrifice solid contact. Finding the proper tee height for your swing can help maximize both distance and accuracy.

In this lesson, we'll cover:
⛳ When to choose a 3-wood or 4-wood off the tee
⛳ Understanding the flight characteristics of fairway woods
⛳ Proper driver tee height
⛳ Building confidence with your longest clubs
Remember, golf isn't always about hitting it the farthest—it's about putting yourself in the best position for the next shot.

I'm Dick Logan, your golf mentor. Let's continue building the tools you need to play your best golf.

Golf Tool Box with Coach Dick Logan 🧰⛳️

Today we’re talking mid irons — featuring the reliable 7 iron and versatile hybrid.

The 7 iron is one of the best clubs in the bag to build consistency and confidence. Great height, solid control, and dependable distance.

The hybrid helps bridge the gap — easier to hit than a long iron and perfect for smooth, high-launch shots from the fairway or rough.

Coach Logan explains ball flight, distances, shot selection, and how these clubs can help lower your scores.

Coach Logan’s Target Circles Drill starts with confidence-building 2-footers.

Make a set number in a row, build trust in your stroke, then move back and work on lag putting from 10, 15, 20, and 30 feet.

Coach Logan Putting Series | Part 4: The Putting Ladder ⛳️

What matters more in putting — distance or direction?

Coach Logan’s answer: distance. 🎯

In Part 4, Coach Logan breaks down the Putting Ladder Drill — a proven way to develop elite touch and speed control, the key to eliminating three-putts.

How to work it:
• Find a green with both uphill ⬆️ and downhill ⬇️ slopes
• Partner up 👥 and create a “ladder” of distances
• Focus on distance control first, line second
• Switch sides so you train both uphill and downhill feels

Mastering distance control leads to:
• Fewer three-putts ❌
• Better lag putting 🎯
• More confidence under pressure 💪
