Try this with your kids this weekend:

Mom’s Top 3. Sit down with your kids and ask them to name three things Mom always says when life gets tough. Write them on a sticky note and put it on the bathroom mirror.
Next time they hit a tough moment, those words are right there waiting.

Afterschool staff do not get enough credit.
They show up every day, all school year long, for our kids. And this Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week, Lone Star Kids Run Club wanted to show up for them.

We were proud to deliver individual charcuterie boards to each extended day staff member at Adams Elementary, the district afterschool director, and her FES colleague in the district office.
They work behind the scenes all year to make after school programs possible for our children.

A huge shout out to for handcrafting a beautiful individual board for every single person.

The school year is winding down. Before it does, take a moment to thank the afterschool professionals in your life. They pour into your children every single day. That deserves to be recognized.

Last week was Medal Challenge Day, and the kids showed up ready.

They ran hard, they pushed through yet they didn’t quit. 🏃🏽🏃🏻‍♀️
And when it was over…�you could hear it loud and proud:
“I earned my medal!”

That moment right there.�That belief. That confidence.
You can’t teach that with words alone. They felt it.

Some of them had never pushed themselves like that before.�But they did it and they were proud as they should be.

I’m proud of every single one of them.
Not just for finishing…�but for digging deep and proving to themselves they could.

This is why we do it.❤️

Medal Challenge Day is almost here, and the kids who have shown up and put in the work are about to be recognized for it.

Consistency is a skill. Commitment is a skill. Showing up when you do not feel like it is a skill.

That is what we teach here.

To every student who came back week after week, who pushed through, who gave their best, tomorrow is for you.

Ask them what their superpower is. 👀 💥
