Dragon Hoops is 🔐 in and ready for the 2026 TABC SHOWCASE. Game play starts tomorrow in College Station where over 130 college coaches will be in attendance. Good luck & Safe travels to our Dragon Girls Basketball team & Coaches!

Dragon Athletics is proud to welcome Ciaira Briseno back to Southwest High School!

We are excited to have Coach Briseno return to Southwest, bringing her energy, experience, knowledge, and leadership back to our Dragon Athletic Coaching Staff.

Coach Briseno's basketball experience is exceptional. She played collegiate basketball at Our Lady of the Lake University and is also an alumna of St. Mary's University, where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees while continuing her athletic career as a dual-sport athlete in basketball and softball.

We are thrilled to have Coach Briseno back home and look forward to the positive impact she will make on our student-athletes and athletic programs.

Dragon Athletics is excited to announce and welcome Coach Troy Bernal to Southwest High School as a new Assistant Girls Basketball Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach!

Coach Bernal comes to us from Roy Miller High School in Corpus Christi ISD, bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm for developing student-athletes. His dedication to building strong relationships, fostering competitive excellence, and helping young athletes reach their full potential will be a tremendous asset to both our Lady Dragon Basketball program and Dragon Track & Field.

We are thrilled to have Coach Bernal join the Dragon Family and look forward to the positive impact he will make on our athletes, programs, and school community.
