After almost a month of not following my new routine I’m slowly jumping back in. This past month was hectic but now we’re back to normal day to day. In the past month I’ve managed to lose 6 lbs by quitting caffeine and sugary drinks, not snacking on as much junk as I use to, drinking more water everyday. I’m definitely going to need to discipline my time on online especially before bed, the lack of sleep is making it hard to make it through my early workdays. I want to remind each of you it’s okay to stumble but it’s not okay to let it stop your journey. Tomorrow’s a new day and beginning.

Today I got to celebrate my birthday a couple days early with my Senior class. I treated them to a playlist of all my favorite songs, bingo and cupcake and ice cream. I’m so blessed to have my little tribe and be am able to celebrate with them. The ladies pictures have allowed me to do what brings me joy every week. They prove that EVERY BODY BELONGS!

All I wanted to do was come straight home and take a nap (since I only got 3 hrs of sleep last night!) but instead I came home changed and pressed play to catch Catherine Ballas’s REFIT class which I’m so glad I did. Such a fun playlist of songs that I used to do and what made me fall in love with REFIT about 4 years ago.

She asked what’s one thing we want to go back to in this new season that brings us joy, my answer is getting back to working out more than once a week and clearing my mind after a long work day or even before those long night shifts. Taking care of myself is what I’m focused of during this new season. RECON brought an embrace to make changes that are hard and know they are achievable.

Starting to feel more confident in myself again. At RECON I saw this tee and loved the colors and the design but when I saw it was a cropped tee I put it back down. After seeing .your.average.karen_ sporting this around with all the confidence in the world (mind you she had just had a baby a few months back) she inspired me to order it during the new merch launch. I’m loving everything about this shirt and what it says. “ You Belong” Those words have never meant more to me then they do now. Having an entire community support me through all my ups and downs during many failed attempts in the past is so reassuring this time around. A couple of weeks ago I restarted my fitness and wellness journey. I’m now at day 17 and with the few changes I’ve made I’m feeling more energetic throughout my day. I started making sure I get 8 hours of sleep ( or at least 6) on the days I can, drinking more water, cutting out caffeine and all those sugary drinks, eating 3 meals a day (most are made at home) and adding exercise at least 30-60 minutes at least 5 times a week. I know seeing drastic changes will take time but I’m excited for when they do come! I hope this inspires you to make the changes (no matter how small they may be) to get to your goals. The changes need to happen because you want them to not because someone else says you have to. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AS YOU ARE! YOU WERE BUILT TO DO HARD THINGS! I’m here to cheer you on or lend a word of encouragement when things get tough.

August 1st. Yet another restart to my wellness journey. Time and time again I’ve said this year will be the year I change it all and every year I find an excuse to sabotage any progress no matter how big or small. What I’ve realized during this time of refocusing is, I’m the only person who can make this happen! But I’ve also realized I have my entire community cheering me on, supporting my journey with kind words and also reassuring me that 1 bad day doesn’t have to change my mindset. The girl in the last 2 pictures looks so confident but she’s not always. At times I wonder who the heck am I to be a fitness instructor? But the beauty about REFIT is anyone can do it! As long as you encourage others in the most positive way, give them grace when they step away and leave them a seat at the table for when they’re ready to come back. Every BODY I’d beautiful and capable of wonderful things. This is the start of a beautiful journey. Everyday I’ll learn to love and accept myself as I am And celebrate what my body can do.
