REGISTRATION IS OPEN:
This is my SEVENTH summer officially doing private swim lessons!
You may be a returning fish, an intrigued one, or a referral - but either way, WELCOME!
Some information about me and what I do/offer:
-I have been swimming since I was 5 (so 26 years!) and I have been teaching since I was 16 (so 15 years!).
-I have taught and still do teach anyone from the age of 6 months old and up. Anyone 2 years old and under, I require a parent or someone over the age of 18 (someone the child spends a lot of time with) to be in the water with us.
-I teach your child how to swim, but before that, I teach them how to save their life. Water safety is my NUMBER ONE PRIORITY and ALL children, regardless of prior swim experience, will go through level one (swimming safety) before moving on to skill levels.
-I can work with anyone! From the child (or adult!) petrified of the water to the child on the swim team needing work on technique.
-I do private lessons ONLY due to preference and ability to teach the child. I have seen over the years that children learn better on a one-on-one basis than with 4-6 other children competing for my attention in 30 minutes. I’m able to teach them more, go more in-depth, teach to their specific level, create personalized lesson plans, and go at the CHILD’s pace rather than a lesson plan or group’s pace. **Upon consultation, I may allow TWO siblings to attend together if at similar levels - but nothing more.
-I have a strict attendance policy of a 24-hour cancellation notice for that day’s lessons. I understand emergencies happen, and I’m flexible about rescheduling as long as it’s within the same week. If not, 1/2 of the lesson fee will be due before the next lesson is scheduled. I hold myself to the same attendance policy.
-Texas weather is unpredictable, and we cannot swim if there’s lightning or thunderstorms in the area. However, I will still hold lessons in rain **not hurricane/flooding type rain**. I will also not hold lessons on days when temperatures drop below 72 due to the risk of hypothermia. I WILL ALWAYS COMMUNICATE WEATHER-RELATED ISSUES TO YOU AND RESCHEDULE WITH NO FEES IF NECESSARY.
-Lessons usually go from June to August due to my location being an outdoor, unheated community pool. I do my lessons at The Great Northwest HOA Pool. The address will be given upon contract agreement.
-I am a certified swim instructor and swim instructor trainer through the American Red Cross. I’m also a Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor through them.
-I also offer Lifeguarding certification, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, babysitting certification, and more.
-I have done “competition” research during the winter off-season, and the running rate for private lessons is running from $60-$70 per child. I have a sole proprietor rate and a local business rate to show (if you are interested), and since this used to be a side gig for me, I’ve learned that teaching and coaching are the passions I want to turn full-time. My rate for lessons is $50 ($80 upon agreement for dual siblings instead of $100).
-I only accept cash, Zelle, and Apple Pay. Apps such as Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal are no longer accepted. Payment must be received before the lesson.
-Please message me if you have any other questions! I’m more than willing to show you my certifications if needed. I’m excited for the upcoming season and to meet your little fish 🐠
