Join us for the Opening Reception of Turnt Buckle, works by Rambo Salinas

📅 Friday, June 5, 6-9 pm
📍@ the Art Gallery at MBS
1115 S Alamo Street, Suite 2212

Rambo Salinas is a Tejano artist, music historian, DJ, archivist, and collage maker from Alice, Texas, whose work is rooted in South Texas culture, Chicano music history, punk aesthetics, wrestling ephemera, and underground forms of collective memory. Since the early 2000s, Salinas has organized dance nights, collected records, researched regional labels, and shared the sounds and histories of Texas and Latino music through radio, public programs, and community-based archival work.

His visual practice extends this lifelong engagement with overlooked cultural histories. Drawing from vintage wrestling magazines, music imagery, zines, photocopies, and found printed matter, Salinas creates black-and-white collages that honor performers, outsiders, underdogs, and cultural figures who embody resistance, spectacle, humor, violence, and survival.

20 tabs open in your brain right now? 🤯 Let’s hit refresh.

Ready to clear the mental fog? We’re sharing 4 major non-fitness benefits of yoga on the blog right now.

Benefit #2 of our yoga practice might surprise you: Mental Clarity + Focus. 🧠✨

Yoga is essentially weight training for your attention span. Instead of bouncing around in constant distraction, yoga teaches you how to bring your mind back to the present moment—again and again. Whether you’re moving through a flow or resting in a guided meditation, you're building the mental strength to think clearly and make decisions without the overwhelm.

✨ New Moon Gathering: Mapping Your Inner Season ✨

Just like the moon shifts through its phases, we cycle through different seasons in our own lives. There are times for action, times for rest, times for receiving, and times for letting go.

To help us navigate these cycles, we are turning to ancient yoga philosophy as our framework for this New Moon's intention setting. Yoga outlines the Purusharthas—the four distinct pillars of a deeply fulfilled human life:

Dharma (Our duty, purpose, and alignment with truth)

Artha (Our resourcefulness, security, and material prosperity)

K**a (Our capacity for joy, desire, and sensory pleasure)

Moksha (Our ultimate freedom, liberation, and spiritual peace)

We naturally cycle in and out of periods where one particular aim feels more salient than the others. Which phase are you in right now? Where is your energy calling to be directed? Rather than forcing an intention from the mind, we will use this evening to feel deeply into our intuition to discover exactly where we are right now, allowing an intention to arise that truly fits your current season.

Our flow for the evening:

Movement: A few minutes of breath-focused movement (Kundalini Kriyas) with Lesley Ramsey to clear the busy mind.

Meditation: A guided journey through the Purusharthas to listen to your inner guidance.

Rest: A deeply restorative sound bath with Audrey Stephens to integrate your insights.

Reflection: Time for journaling and a warm cup of Happyness Tea.

🗓️ When: Monday, June 15 | 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
📍 Where: MBS, Southtown
✨ With: Lesley Ramsey & Audrey Stephens

Bring your favorite journal, a pen, and an open heart. We look forward to sitting in circle with you. Link in bio to join us. 🌙✨

"This is where real healing begins—lower stress levels, steadier energy, and a greater sense of ease." 🕊️

When we think of yoga, we often think of the physical poses. But the most profound shifts happen beneath the surface. Yoga is a powerful tool for regulating a stressed-out nervous system. By slowing down and tuning into the breath, we give our bodies permission to step out of overdrive and into healing.

We just published a new blog post breaking down 4 life-changing, non-fitness benefits of yoga.

📖 Read the full post via the link in our bio.

If you’re ready to bring more ease into your daily life, we’d love to welcome you to our Yoga+ Open House on Saturday, June 27. Stay tuned for registration details!
