Proper load distribution matters more than most people realize.

Most people focus on how much weight they’re carrying.

The bigger question is how that weight is carried.

Once your pack starts pulling away from your body, the load shifts, your balance changes, and every mile becomes harder than it needs to be.

A better pack doesn’t make the weight disappear.

It makes the weight work with you instead of against you.

Follow us for gear knowledge, field testing, and lessons learned the hard way.

When you’re miles from the truck, every piece of gear matters.

You stop thinking about the gear you trust.

That’s the point.

The Mothman is built to carry the load, stay comfortable, and disappear into the background so you can focus on the mission ahead.

American-made.
Field-tested.

Ready for whatever comes next.

Follow us for real-world gear testing and loadout ideas.

The mountains don’t care what happened last week.

The river doesn’t care what you’re carrying.

The trail doesn’t care who you used to be.

Out here, you just take the next step.

Three quick blasts.

That’s all it takes to signal for help when everything goes sideways.

A whistle is one of the simplest pieces of survival gear you can carry - and one of the easiest to overlook.

Small.
Lightweight.
Critical when it matters.

Real-world preparedness isn’t about looking tactical.
It’s about carrying gear that solves problems.

Most gear looks good online.
Different story once saltwater, rain, rock, mud, and miles get involved.

That’s where you find out what actually matters:

* comfort under load
* real usability
* durability
* modularity
* gear you don’t baby

Field-tested on the Washington coast.

For those of us who have served this day is a day of reverence.

We hope all Americans share our feelings of gratitude for those who have given the last full measure of devotion to our nation.

Today also comes with a bit of survivors guilt. All of us have a number:

- Number of years of service.
- Number of deployments.
- Number of missions.
- Number of friends who didn't make it home.
- Number of families who have sacrificed.

Memorial day is a reminder to all Americans regardless of service that we bare the responsibility that their sacrifice is not in vain.

This is the time to say their names and tell their stories so they will never be forgotten.

Some people design gear for catalogs.
Some build it for algorithms.

We believe gear should be built for places like this.

Cold rain. Muddy trails. Heavy loads. Long miles. Terrain that doesn’t care what logo is stitched on your pack.

This weekend in the Olympic National Forest, the Mothman was exactly where it belongs — deep in the Pacific Northwest doing real work.

And that’s the standard.
