NFL Prep, return to sport athletes, to my 5:30 am bootcamp and 6:30 strength.. All have one thing I’m common.. A GOAL, from a life long dream of playing college/pro ball or quality longevity. In this serious time in our nation The D1 staff is taking tremendous pride providing a safe motivating environment to keep working towards those goals. Great seeing my regulars this am.

To my FAST Academy clients, friends, and family. I am excited to announce my transition to D1 Training! This is an exciting time for me. I have been named as head strength and conditioning coach at D1. D1 Training prepares and develops athletes for collegiate sports, and provides top tier facilities coaching and programming for the community to train in a division 1 strength and conditioning program. There are two D1 facilities being constructed in SA, and by the end of 2019 both will be operating. I am proud to be apart of the D1 culture! One of the best athletes alive had a terrible injury in game 6 NBA finals. Picture left: Dominant movement strategy. Weight is dispersed on the outer 1/3 of plant foot aligning knee outside of the foot with a good glute/heel relationship, this keeps his center mass level along with shoulders. Picture right: Outside force of competition altered his path of force absorption-landing. Force absorbed on the inner 1/3 of foot caused the knee to collapse inside of the ankle due to his upper mass being outside center of gravity, tearing the ACL. Felt the need to share, I am working on all of my athletes dispersing wt properly while engaged with their center mass. I see a lot of athletes knees collapsing in lateral movement/change of direction/vertical force production/absorption. Injuries happen even when dominant movement strategies are in place. With awareness we can create lower risk injury athletes. Prayers for on his recovery process, his character competitive drive and mental toughness is inspiring. World would be a better place if every young athlete had 1% of what Klay has. Performance is character driven.

Athletes that focus on the WHY will get the benefits producing the force needed to turn and run. Left heel/knee/glute driving him into a position to pull with his right hamstring... long story short, no wasted movement, injury resistant, mentally put into position to make plays, applying EFFORT to TECHNIQUE. Mastering the details with character.

If we pay attention to the details, the movement will tell a story. Wasted movement is wasted energy. This young athlete is seeking TECHNIQUE to apply EFFORT. Finished change of direction drill with direct purpose. Applied proper leverage/force to the lateral stabilizers of his center mass, and connected the dots of his inside leg to not waste energy changing direction. Been amazing watching grow!! Best is coming!!
