One of the most rewarding parts of competition isn’t just the medals or the matches. It’s watching the journey unfold in real time.
As coaches, parents, family members, and teammates, we get to see the hard work that happens in the weeks leading up to tournament day. We see the extra rounds, the nerves, the excitement, the doubts, and all the preparation that often goes unnoticed.
Then competition day arrives, and we get to watch these athletes face adversity head-on. Whether it’s bouncing back after a loss, shaking off a hard takedown, dealing with an accidental bump or hair pull, managing nerves, overcoming fear, or simply staying composed through the highs and lows of the day, they continue to step forward and give their best effort.
What makes us the proudest isn’t just how they perform on the mats, but how they carry themselves afterward. Win or lose, they represent themselves, their academy, their coaches, and their families with respect. They shake hands, show sportsmanship, and continue to grow through every experience.
We couldn’t be prouder of this incredible group of kids and adults who stepped onto the mats and represented Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu San Antonio this weekend.
A huge thank you to all of the training partners, teammates, parents, family members, and supporters who helped make this possible. Your support means everything.
Now it’s back to work. We learned, we grew, and we’re already looking forward to the next one. 🥋🔥
