Charles A. James Bicycle Shop is the oldest bike shop in San Antonio and we just turned 100 years ol

A Catholic congressman just had to remind the President what the Ten Commandments actually say. That’s where we are.

Ted Lieu didn’t hedge, soften, or play politics. He called it what it is: making a false idol. Not metaphorically. Not “taken out of context.” Straight up biblical language aimed at a President who thought posting himself as Jesus was a good idea.

And then comes JD Vance with the predictable spin: “it’s a joke.”
Right. Because nothing says deep respect for faith like turning it into a punchline the second you get called out.

Lieu wasn’t having it. He didn’t argue vibes. He didn’t debate intent. He went straight to scripture: actions have consequences. You don’t mock God and then hide behind sarcasm when it blows back on you.

And that’s what makes this moment different.

This isn’t coming from critics outside religion. This is a Catholic lawmaker calling out Donald Trump using the very faith Trump claims to represent. It’s a direct rebuke from inside the belief system Trump constantly tries to wrap himself in.

Because let’s be honest: posting yourself as Jesus isn’t edgy, it isn’t funny, and it isn’t harmless. It’s ego on full display. It’s the kind of self-worship that faith is explicitly supposed to reject.

And when leaders start treating religion like branding, and their defenders treat blasphemy like comedy, don’t act shocked when people inside that faith start calling it out.

Ted Lieu did exactly that. Clear. Direct. Unapologetic.

Maybe the most telling part of all of this?
It took a congressman quoting scripture to say what should have been obvious to everyone in the room. 04/15/2026

Exactly! But he has no morals and won’t apologize for what he did.
