🎣 FEDERAL RED SNAPPER FOR-HIRE SEASON IS BACK OPEN!
(This does NOT apply to private anglers.)

NOAA has officially reopened the federal red snapper season for for-hire vessels only — meaning federally permitted charter boats and headboats. This extension is happening because the for-hire fleet did not reach their annual catch target, and NOAA is required to allow the remaining allocation to be harvested.

🗓 Reopening Dates:
December 11, 2025 → January 1, 2026
(12:01 a.m. local time to 12:01 a.m. local time)

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
• This DOES NOT change the private recreational red snapper season.
• Private anglers must still follow the state-managed season set by TPWD.
• This reopening benefits only federally permitted for-hire operations.

This is a great opportunity for charter captains and headboats to finish out their remaining quota — but make sure everyone understands the distinction so nobody ends up unintentionally breaking federal regulations.
