Tomorrow we'll welcome dancers, musicians, teachers, and friends in the Karavan for another Project Band Tripleheader.
Before anyone arrives, though, there's this quiet part.
Coffee gets made.
Music stands appear.
Someone tunes an instrument.
Someone tells the same joke they've told for years.
It's ordinary.
And somehow, it's one of my favorite parts.
Every Tripleheader starts long before the first note is played.

One question comes up almost every year...
"What's the difference between Project Band and GoLive!?"
It's a fair question.
At first glance, they seem closely connected. They both involve live music. They both celebrate improvisation. Many of the same dancers attend both.
But they serve different purposes.
Project Band is where we slow down and spend months developing the skills that aren't built overnight. We learn to listen more carefully, make better musical choices, and become more comfortable responding instead of memorizing.
GoLive! is something different.
It's a weekend where our community comes together to share ideas, learn from guest artists, dance with incredible musicians, and celebrate this art form with dancers from all over.
One is a year-long practice.
One is a weekend of inspiration, connection, and celebration.
Neither replaces the other.
Together, they create something pretty special.
On Saturday at 4:00 pm CST we'll be talking about how these two experiences fit together, how they've evolved over the years, and why we continue to offer both.
