Working harder but not seeing the results you want? The missing link might not be strategy or skill. It’s emotional preparedness.
In my work with high-performers, I’ve seen how developing awareness, regulation, and communication transforms leadership under pressure. It’s the difference between spinning your wheels and breaking through.
When you invest in this skill set, the payoff isn’t just feeling more in control. It’s measurable: faster decisions, fewer costly mistakes, stronger team trust, higher retention, and even increased profitability.
I help leaders like you identify blind spots, build habits that keep you steady, and communicate with clarity.
Your edge isn’t always more grind. Sometimes, it’s mastering the emotional game.

I used to think success meant setting the bar higher every time. The truth? That approach often leads to burnout and stalled progress.
In leadership and high performance, it’s not giant leaps that drive results; it’s about stacked wins. Small, consistent actions create the momentum that transforms productivity, teamwork, and business outcomes.
In this carousel, I’ll show you why lowering the bar can actually raise your results and how to turn steady habits into lasting growth.
Let’s talk if you’re ready to turn pressure into momentum.

“If it’s not a Hell Yeah!, it’s a no.” - Derek Sivers
As an entrepreneur running two businesses, leading a team, caring for loved ones, and still prioritizing my health, I know how tempting it is to keep adding more.
More goals.
More commitments.
More obligations.
But the truth is, you don’t need more. You need more focus.
Every “yes” that isn’t a Hell Yeah! drains energy, steals focus, and slows performance.
I’ve been in the situation where I feel drained and overloaded by too many weak Yeses. Now, I say No more frequently in order to make decisions with clarity—and I coach my clients to do the same.
Where do you need to start saying no so you can show up fully for what really counts?

I spent years measuring myself against standards that weren’t my own. When you’re in a system or an institution, it’s natural to adhere to rules that are imposed upon you. And it can be hard to let go of those rules when you leave the institution.
But here’s the truth I had to learn: the self you bring when you’re trying to fit in is not the same self that emerges when you start considering your own standards of success.
And the way forward doesn’t start with massive leaps. It starts by setting the bar low enough that you can actually win, and then building momentum from there.
If all-or-nothing thinking has been keeping you stuck, it doesn’t have to anymore. Let’s talk about how to create your own metrics for success and actually move forward.

I made the conscious decision to become an executive coach because I wanted to help leaders unlock their highest performance while staying true to who they are. That decision meant enrolling in a coaching program, even while working full-time as COO at a thriving tech startup.
First came Clarify.
I got clear on my vision, my values, and the kind of impact I wanted to have. I defined what success would look like for me and committed to pursuing it fully.
Then came Create.
I left my COO role to start Luminology, my coaching business. From day one, I committed to fueling momentum every week—showing up on social media, introducing myself to new audiences, making connections. Each blog post, each conversation, each piece of content built on the last. Momentum creates more momentum.
And then came Calibrate.
Every week, I step back to assess: What’s working? What’s not? Where do I need to make adjustments? Sometimes that means small tweaks. Other times, it means looping back to Clarify before moving forward again.
This simple cycle—Clarify, Create, Calibrate—has carried me forward. And it’s one of the processes I use with my clients to help them reach their next level without burning out or losing themselves along the way.

I’ve worn a lot of hats in my life. From the structure of the military, to transitioning back into civilian life, to stepping into the role of executive, and now, building a business as an entrepreneur.
At every turn, I’ve discovered that I contain multitudes. It doesn’t mean I’ve had to change who I am. It means I’ve learned how to adapt. I’ve built the tools to navigate whatever life throws my way, no matter the institution, role, or challenge.
That’s the same gift I want to share with my clients. Coaching helps you see your own multitudes and equips you to rise to each new chapter with clarity and confidence.

I’ve learned this the hard way.
From life in the Marine Corps to navigating entrepreneurship, I’ve been through my fair share of high-pressure moments, and I haven't handled all of them with grace.
I've learned that it takes more than just grit or discipline to stay grounded when I'm under pressure. My secret weapon is my spiritual practice.
Quiet time—what author Matthew Kelly describes as “going into the classroom of silence”—is where I reconnect with what matters.
Whether it’s prayer, meditation, or a walk with my dogs, it's in the silence where I find clarity and purpose. It’s how I build my inner core so I can lead, decide, and show up, no matter what life throws at me.
If you’re leading a team, growing a business, or navigating a big transition, your inner world cannot be an afterthought.
In my latest blog, I break down a concept I call General Spiritual Preparedness, and why it belongs in every high performer’s toolkit.

I’ve seen it time and time again—with my clients and in my own life. We stick with things that clearly aren’t working (jobs, investments, routines, relationships), simply because of how much we’ve already poured into them.
That’s the sunk cost fallacy. And it’s a trap high performers fall into all the time.
We tell ourselves it’ll pay off if we just keep going, or we can't "give up" because we already put so much into it. So we end up doubling down and investing even more into something that isn't working. Sometimes, the bravest and smartest move is to walk away.
The time, money, or energy you’ve spent? It’s already gone. The only question is: what will you do next?
Be honest with yourself. Cut your losses. Reclaim your resources. And redirect them toward something that actually serves you.
This is how we lead with clarity—and how we start compounding better decisions.
Let’s take an honest look at what you might need to let go of.

I’m a recovering perfectionist. 🙋♀️
Starting the Peak Performance Prompt series has been way out of my comfort zone.
I used to think I had to get it just right before putting anything out there.
Perfect lighting,
Perfect script.
Perfect delivery.
But if I waited for perfect, I’d still be waiting.
Instead, I’m doing it messy. Doing it nervous. Doing it anyway.
Because growth doesn’t come from playing it safe—it comes from showing up.
I remind myself often of a rule I first saw shared by :
🔶 70% of your work will suck
🔶 20% will be average
🔶 10% will be great
Originally coined by songwriter , this mindset has helped me let go of perfectionism and embrace progress. If you’re avoiding failure, you’re avoiding success.
Want to be happy? Stop trying to be perfect. (Thanks, .)
🎥 The first Peak Performance Prompt dropped last week—just 40 seconds of me answering one question about myself. It’s not polished, but it’s real. And it’s a start.

A few months ago, I found myself reflecting on the concept of General Physical Preparedness (GPP)—the idea that athletes (and everyone) benefit from building broad, functional fitness, not just excelling in one area.
And I thought: What if we applied that same principle to life?
That’s how General Life Preparedness came to life. It’s a framework that includes Physical, Financial, Emotional, Social, and Spiritual readiness as the foundation of a high-performance life.
In this month’s blog post, I’m diving into the financial piece: General Financial Preparedness (GFP). I cover six essential habits every high performer should hone to develop financial resilience:
👀 Awareness
📈 Compounding
🙅 Restraint
📅 Planning
💝 Generosity
💸 Value
When you build competence across these six areas, you equip yourself to handle uncertainty, make choices that are intentional and aligned with your values, and move through life with a greater sense of freedom.

One of the most powerful leadership lessons I ever learned came from my time in the Marine Corps:
“Know yourself and seek self-improvement.”
It shaped how I led as an officer.
It became my edge as a C-suite executive.
And it’s how I help high performers grow today—as a leadership coach and longtime personal trainer.
Leadership isn’t about perfection.
It isn’t about mastering one thing—it’s about building range.
It’s the difference between performing under pressure and leading with power.
In this new deck, I share how this principle ties into General Life Preparedness and what it means for high performers who want to lead with intention, not exhaustion.
Take a look—and if it resonates, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
