Team Kaizen Elite recently traveled to Houston to participate in the OGKK Masters Seminar hosted by Sensei Veras at Traditional Karate Center.

During the event, Sensei Clarissa and Sensei Joey successfully tested for their Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt) and Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt) promotions. In addition, several of our students completed their rank testing: Moriah earned 3rd Kyu (Brown Belt), while Mercy, Maia, and Briana each achieved the rank of Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt). We are incredibly proud of the dedication and hard work shown by everyone who participated in the seminar and testing.

Throughout the seminar, Sensei Joey emphasized the importance of understanding our karate lineage and honoring those who came before us. It was a true privilege to train under such distinguished instructors, including Sensei Muramatsu (10th Dan Hanshi), Sensei Shoji (6th Dan), and Sensei Hirata (9th Dan Hanshi) as well as our own Sensei Veras (8th Dan). We were honored to introduce our students to these respected masters and share in such a meaningful experience together.

Congratulations to everyone on their accomplishments and continued growth in their martial arts journey.

After four intense days at the ICO World Championships, I couldn’t be prouder of our team! Every drop of sweat, every hour of training, every moment of sacrifice it all showed on that floor. 🦾
Watching our kids step up, represent, and perform with heart was nothing short of incredible. They didn’t just compete… they made a statement. 🥇🥋
This year has been full of hard work, long nights, and endless preparation! Seeing it all pay off on the world stage reminded me exactly why we do what we do. 🥹🙌🏼
To our athletes you earned every medal, every moment of applause, and every ounce of pride. To our parents and supporters thank you for believing in this dream. ❤️
