PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: Astros Golf Foundation 🤝
In 2018, Houston Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane took on a mission. Keep the PGA TOUR in Houston. Bring the tournament back into the heart of the city. Give something real back to the community.
The result was a $34 million rebuild of Memorial Park Golf Course, a Texas Golf Hall of Fame Historic Course since 2016, led by architect Tom Doak with input from Brooks Koepka. In 2020, for the first time in 57 years, the Texas Children’s Houston Open returned to Memorial Park.
But the project went further than the golf course. A sustainable stormwater irrigation system. A new short course for First Tee kids. A STEM education center. A tennis complex. All built for the public, not just tournament week.
That's the kind of partner that doesn't just support Texas golf. It reshapes what a city's course can be for the people who live there.
