We are a couple that likes adventure. After two years of preparation and downsizing, we sold our house, bought an RV, retired and started living a nomad life.

This page shares our adventures running, hiking and other outdoor adventures as nomads.

Another great Texas Adventure! We just spent a week in San Antonio, at a campground on the San Antonio River Trail. We could walk or bike to all 5 missions on the mission trail and into downtown/ Riverwalk district. We loved walking and biking along the river looking at the water fowl and birds. So much to see. — with Sharon Anderson Taylor at Travelers World RV Resort.

Campground Review: Tom Sawyer’s RV Park. We spent 7 nights at Tom Sawyer’s RV Park. This park is right on the Mississippi River. You can watch the barges go up and down river day and night. We were in site 66, which was great. The best site for a 5ft wheel is site 100....where back window looks over the river and door opens to the river. The sites in that section are currently closed to repair flood damage. The amenities at this park are minimal. It has FHU but no cable and poor cell service for Verizon, ATT and TMobile even with roof cellular antenna and pepwave CAT12 modems. Laundry room is good and free. Don’t let that deter you, this is a MUST DO PARK. Weather was not good during our stay but we did have 3 nights to sit outside and 2 nice sunsets and sunrises. Price was good also, $300 for the week. Easy access by car to Memphis and we enjoyed visits to Mud Island and Beale Street while here.

Campground Review: Nashville KOA Resort. We spent 6 nights at the Nashville KOA resort in Jan 2021. It was only our second KOA and it was our best so far. It was a company owned location (versus owned by a franchisee) and I think that is why it was so well operated. So many fun activities for young kids....which we don’t have. We rented a premium pull through with KOA patio. It was nice having the furniture provided and the nice concrete pad and patio. Fire pit was also nice but we used our Solo Stove instead. Location was fairly easy access and only a mile from The Grand Ole Opry and Opry Mills. About a $17 Uber to Lower Broadway. Laundry and bath was very nice as well. Not sure we are finding KOA a good value for us since we don’t utilize the kid-friendly amenities.
