San Clemente 4th of July Office Chair Racing Continues!

Contrary to rumors initiated by the city and falsely perpetuated by fallible websites such as Google Search and Chat GPT, the San Clemente 4th of July Office Chair Downhill Derby will take place, as it always has, for the 22nd consecutive year, making this still the Longest Continuously Running Office Chair Race in the World.

Due to the city blocking off the race course over the last two years, the racers had to adjust their racing schedule to get their downhill runs in. While there have been no rumors of an attempted blockage for this year's event, the races will be starting early once again, just in case.

Once again, locals ask that you do not bring water balloons to this race. Water balloons and the property damage and physical injuries that they have caused are what almost forced this race to be cancelled in the past. Don't be that idiot that ends Office Chair Racing. If you choose to bring water balloons, we have heard rumors that you may be met with strong localism of the threatening kind. Locals ask that you help keep this a safe and peaceful event by not bringing water balloons that may incite an altercation. Locals have also asked for help in collecting video evidence of those throwing water balloons, for prosecutory purposes, in case of any further property damage or injuries occur. Any such videos you capture can be anonymously sent to [email protected]. You can also send your great race videos to this address as well.

If you really really really have a Freudian need to throw water balloons at total strangers in order to satisfy your childish and/or sexual desires, then it is rumored that there will be an unsanctioned water balloon war scheduled at Linda Lane Park where you can splash your fluids all over the half-naked bodies of total strangers all day long... If that's what you're into. Just keep it away from the Office Chair Race, thank you.
