Skip Ohana Fest — Bring Your Ohana to the Club THIS Saturday for One of Our BEST Bands EVER!

We’ve brought you some incredible bands on the sand at the Beach Club.

Four years ago, a last-minute tip from a DJ friend led us to The Perfect Blend, and they quickly became one of your all-time favs. We’ve brought you our own Shorecliffs talent, Jack Wygal, along with The Skinny Ties and others.

Now, we’ve discovered The Longview Band—a self-taught sibling band that is taking SoCal by storm—and they’re coming to blow away the Beach Club this Saturday, September 26, from 5–8 PM!

-Layse, 18 — vocals, rhythm guitar, flute, drums, and piano
-Enzo, 16 — vocals, lead guitar, and piano
-Coco, 14 — bass guitar, vocals, and piano
-Delmar, 11 — vocals, rhythm guitar, and drums

Their repertoire is HUGE! From all your favorite rock ’n’ roll hits of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and today to soul, funk, country, surf music, and even some Bossa Nova jazz, The Longview Band knows how to set the stage.

So, you can spend $350 to $1,000 for a Saturday ticket to Ohana Fest… or bring your ohana to the Beach Club for three hours of FREE live music from a band that will give those festival acts a serious run for their money.

Trust me. Or trust some of their famous fans—Kelly Slater, Chris Hillman, The Chantays, Bob Spickard, The Tourmaliners, and even jazz legend Peter Sprague.

August Wins August! Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, August Austin.

This is August’s first season at the Beach Club, but he has already made an impact. When it comes to hard work, energy, and enthusiasm, he’s second to none.

August is not one to sit still. In fact, he thrives when there’s a lot to do—especially when it comes to helping us shore up the Club and filling what seems like an endless summer of sandbags! Whether it’s a small job or a major project, he always jumps in.

Toss in a healthy dose of sarcasm and a quick wit, and that pretty much sums up August!

Who is August Austin? (With a name like that, you’ve gotta be something special. Maybe that’s why he’s headed to the US Coast Guard)…

1. What is your educational background?

Since graduating from high school, I attended EMT school and became an OCFA Fire Cadet. I also attended Saddleback College, where I received my AA degree. I worked as an EMT for a year.

2. What inspired you to pursue a career in the Coast Guard?

My experience working as an EMT inspired me to join the Coast Guard because I love helping people, serving others, and serving my country.

3. What are you looking forward to most?

Training hard, challenging myself, overcoming whatever comes my way, and graduating!

4. What are your outside interests?

Rock climbing, fishing, and snowboarding.

5. What do you like best about the Club?

The sense of community is amazing—and being able to work on the beach makes it even better!

6. Do you have a favorite event?

The Fourth of July event because it was so much fun celebrating and hosting games for the entire community.

7. What are your long-term goals?

Having a successful career in the U.S. Coast Guard and continuing my career in public service by eventually applying to become an OCFA firefighter.

8. What is one skill you’ve gained from working at the Club?

Knowing how to fill A LOT of sandbags for when the storms hit! 🤣

9. Is there anything you would like to say to the community?

I’m grateful for the opportunity. It has been so much fun, and I’ve really enjoyed being part of the Shorecliffs community!

New Tile Wall Is Up! One More Chance to Add Yours.

Our new tile wall is officially up, and it looks amazing! Great job, everyone!

We know many of our residents didn’t get a chance to create a family tile during our Tiles & Smiles event back in June. Due to popular demand, Board Director Cale Foreman is offering Shorecliffs Beach Club members one more opportunity this season to become a permanent part of Shorecliffs Beach Club history.

This time it will be by reservation only. Tiles must be preordered and prepaid to secure your spot at our next Tiles & Smiles painting event in October.

Only 30 tiles will be available.

We’ll provide everything you need:

6” x 6” ceramic tiles
Paints and brushes
Stencils and decorations
Bring your creativity and design something special that represents your family and your connection to Shorecliffs.

Labor Day BBQ Bash Cancelled

Due to forecasted rain, hazardous swells & rip currents, and a flooded catwalk, our Labor Day BBQ Bash scheduled for Sunday, September 6, 2026, has been cancelled.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the SBC Board felt this was the right decision in the best interest and safety of our community.

Volunteers Needed Tomorrow!

Residents will be meeting at the Club tomorrow at 10:30 AM to fill sandbags and help shore up the Club in preparation for the large swell and extreme tide conditions associated with Hurricane Marie, expected to impact us Sunday, September 6 through Tuesday, September 8.

Residents Ben and Larry have built sandbag-filling tubes that make the process much faster and easier. With our new system, we can fill approximately 75 bags in just 30 minutes!

If you’d like to help, bring gloves and a friend! Many hands make quick work, and we greatly appreciate everyone who pitches in to help protect our Club.

COURTS CLOSED UNTIL THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, DUE TO SAFETY HAZARD

For everyone’s safety, the pickleball/paddle courts are temporarily CLOSED due to a downed wire and light pole fixture inside the courts.

Repairs are being made this afternoon, and the courts will remain closed until the work is complete and the area is safe to reopen.

On a brighter note — the playground looks amazing! The entire playground has been completely refurbished and freshly painted, and it looks like new! The rusted bench has also been removed.

The playground is OPEN, and the swings will reopen tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you for your patience while we get everything repaired, refreshed, and ready to enjoy!
