New Doggo 🐶

Rescued this good boy a month ago and wow! Wasn’t expecting how fast life would change with a dog.
Honestly this post is late because I was back and forth on whether I could make this work. We have officially passed the point of no return, Aka I love this goober too much to ever let him go!
He tests me daily and i know We both will be better for being apart of each other’s lives. He has so much love to give and I’m here for all of it!
After a necessary name change, meet Dobby šŸ’•šŸ¾

Never did share photos from my last show in September. This was my first 1st place finish :) and I’m so proud of the physique IFBB PRO DERRICK YUVIENCO šŸ‡µšŸ‡] and I brought.
In 2019, I placed 2nd at my first show, in 2020 I got third call outs at nationals, then this year I got second call outs at nationals. I wanted to take a step back from the National stage for a bit so I got to compete locally in my city and that whole day was amazing, very stress free, relaxed, loved every bit of it!
Prep is unlike anything else, it’s taught me discipline I never knew I had, but it’s time for a break. I’m well into my reverse and off season and enjoying life. A lot of tough mental aspects of the reverse that I’m still working through but hey, challenges make us grow baby, and we’re here for that 😁

There are two types of fun…

Type 1: Enjoyable while it’s happening

Type II: Not fun while it’s happening but fun in retrospect

Personally I think training is a mix of both but Im really digging in these last 2 weeks of prep to bring my all time best! Lots of type II fun ahead šŸ˜Ž

PROUD

This prep taught me how to prep. I didn’t cut corners, I didn’t miss cardio, I didn’t lower weight just because I was X weeks out, my mindset stayed strong and focused (outside of a few breakdowns :). I followed through on my plan. I ate what I was supposed to eat, posed every morning, and when showtime came, I left it all on stage. Yes this is the bare minimum, but this is the first time I did that.

This is only my 3rd show/prep. My last show I binged on some food 3 weeks out from stage and hoped my posing would just come together. My first show, I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, what I was supposed to look like- I had never even been to a show before and only cared about my post show cookies.

While I still see lots of improvements to be made, and wish I placed higher, I am proud of what I accomplished in this prep and the standards I kept for myself. I made an intention and stayed true to it to the very end. This prep taught me how to compete seriously in this sport. This prep revealed my mental strength.

I still have a massive amount of thank you’s to give out on a separate post. This is an individual sport that wouldn’t be possible without a huge community behind you. For now:

Waking up grateful for yet another day to live, love, and be grateful for all the lessons and gifts life has to offer me today. See the good, be the good. Put on your rose colored glasses and choose joy :)

Where did the time go??

Between scrolling IG, getting wrapped up in our stock gains/losses, and stalking our Amazon purchases, that quick 5 minute phone check can become hours lost from our day.

We can’t create more time. We CAN create a better environment that works FOR us. Adding these simple hacks to your phone creates just enough resistance to snap you out of the blue light trance:

āœ…Change the location of apps on your phone - Switching up where apps are located on your phone can help break the neural connections that have you mindlessly clicking into them when you’re bored.

āœ…Notification Settings - Turn them OFF! Most of them are just promotions letting you know the app is still on your phone and misses you (and your money). This hack might actually save you $$ ;)

āœ…App Time Limits - Mhmm. Train yourself. Start small. If you’re currently at 3hrs/day of social media, try setting a limit to 2, then 1. You won’t miss it.

āœ…Downtime Settings (Game Changer!!) - Setup Downtime on your phone. At 9pm, almost all the apps on my phone go black automatically, basically telling me it's time to power down and get ready for bed. These apps don’t power up again until 11am so I can have a productive morning.

These simple hacks help to break the trance of getting lost in cyber world and bringing you back to a state of awareness. Then you can decide if you still need to check FB or not ;)
