Mastery isn’t a 30-day challenge.
It’s a lifetime of showing up and choosing to improve, even when it’s hard.
If you're ready for something more than temporary results, this is your path.

We don’t chase trends. We train for what stays.

Flexibility isn’t a bonus...it’s a building block!
Without it, your strength hits a ceiling.
With it? You unlock movement, mobility, and power that lasts far beyond the mat in the form of real, useable, strength.

In Oom Yung Doe training, flexibility and strength go hand in hand. Whether you’re aiming to kick higher, recover faster, or just feel better in your body, this is where it starts.

“Keep going.”

Two simple words that hold the weight of every challenge in the practice room. Those words aren’t just encouragement, they’re a powerful training principle. A reminder that the path to growth is rarely a straight line. It’s a series of setbacks, moments of doubt, and stretches of discomfort.

Every roll, every kick, every stance becomes an opportunity to practice not just martial arts but the art of perseverance. “Keep going” isn’t just about pushing through a tough move. It’s about pushing through when the voice in your head tells you to quit. It’s about embracing the struggle, knowing that progress isn’t always visible but is building quietly beneath the surface.

Instructors know that the biggest breakthroughs often come after the hardest moments. When muscles shake, confidence wavers, and frustration sets in. That’s when those two words matter most.

Keep going. Because each time you do, you’re not just getting stronger. You’re proving to yourself that you can keep going, even when it’s hard. And that kind of strength? It lasts far beyond the practice room.

Thank you to the 36 students, instructors, and community members who took the Kick Pledge as part of our 7th Annual Kick-a-thon! From our youngest Kicker who needed a little help from Mom to get started to our oldest Kicker who showed that at at the age of 73, wearing cowboy boots and jeans, you can still do 1000 Kicks we had some amazing highlights this year.

This year we had 16 Kickers join the 1000 Kick Club, including 2 community kickers under the age of 8. Another 6 Kickers made it to 2000 Kicks, including 5 first time Kickers, and 5 Kickers including 1 first time Kicker and 1 child under 10, made it to the lofty heights of 3000 Kicks.

You can check out the full Kick Day results or make a tax deductible donation to help these Kickers make the biggest impact possible in support of Traditional Martial Arts Scholarship and Tuition Assistance programs.

Thank you to everybody who donated or volunteered time in 2024 in support of our mission of Promoting Health and Wellness in our Community through Traditional Martial Arts. Your contributions to our cause, whether it was financial, sharing your time, or simply spreading the word about what we do, have helped make our programs grow this past year. Thanks to the support of our local communities in Kirkland, Seattle, and San Diego, we were able to increase the number of community members who connect to our Women's Self Defense courses by just over 13% and our Tai Chi Programs by almost 25%. We hope you enjoy reading about these accomplishments and more in our 2024 Impact Report which is now available on our website at https://www.oomyungdoe-nw.com/non-profit-misson.html
