Celebrating Earth Day 2022 with some fresh air, blue skies and green! We hope you got to enjoy a page out of nature’s playbook!

This year’s Earth Day theme is “Invest in Our Planet”. As Outerbound is just starting out, we are investing our time and resources into ways that we can conserve our beautiful home that we call Earth! We hope that by creating a platform for sharing outdoor experiences in addition to ways that we can preserve the planet, we can promote sustainability within our communities and maintain a beautiful and playful environment for future generations.

Earth Day 2022

Earth Day is this Friday, April 22! Make it a goal this week to do something green for our planet. At Outerbound, we cherish the time we get to spend in nature and seek to conserve its beauty for future generations. As our community grows, we hope to sponsor cleanups, plant trees, and support more organizations who are making a positive difference for the planet. In the meantime, we get to join our local communities in these events and make small changes within our lifestyles to “greenify” our daily tasks. Here are a few easy things you can do too!
⁃Recycle! Check your local disposal service to know what items can be recycled. I recently stopped tossing my plastic grocery bags because I found out that they can be dropped off at stores like Walmart and Sprouts to be recycled!
⁃Pick up trash when you are out in nature. This is a simple way that you can cleanup your environment on the go. Perhaps bring a bag with you to collect trash until you find a garbage can nearby
⁃Use more sustainable products. Many stores now sell more earth friendly paper products or have plastic free packaging! Try to purchase products with less plastic, that use either glass or paper packaging. There are also many eco-friendly solutions you can find online, like ways to switch out your laundry detergent or bath products.
⁃Finally, get OUTSIDE! Enjoy this beautiful world and the incredible playground that Mother Nature has given us!
