Some tennis players prefer rallying over playing competitive matches for a few reasons:
1. Enjoyment & Fitness – Many players simply enjoy the rhythm of hitting without the pressure of scoring points. It’s a great way to stay active without the stress of competition.
2. Skill Development – Rallying allows players to focus on technique, consistency, and control without worrying about winning or losing.
3. Avoiding Stress – Competitive matches can be mentally and physically demanding. Some players prefer the relaxed environment of just hitting the ball back and forth.
4. Injury Concerns – Playing points often requires sudden movements, sprints, and aggressive shots. Rallying can be a lower-impact way to enjoy the game.
5. Social Aspect – Some players use tennis as a social activity rather than a serious sport. Rallying allows for conversation and a more casual experience.

Would you rather rally or compete in matches?

Absolutely, sports fans should practice sportsmanship just as much as the players do. While the athletes are on the field competing, fans play a big role in creating the atmosphere around the game. Showing respect for other fans, the players, and even the referees helps keep the environment positive and enjoyable for everyone.

Good sportsmanship from fans can mean cheering for your team without putting down the other, accepting losses gracefully, and avoiding hostile or aggressive behavior. After all, sports are meant to bring people together, whether you’re playing or just watching.
