Absolutely amazing way to spend St. Patrick’s day. With this amazing group of girls and hockey.
Guess what day it is? It’s 🐪 day! Or as I lovely call it Wednesday!
Today is all about those shoulders. (I mean it is summer after all suns ☀️ out guns 💪 out.) Shoulder health is so important. Today I give you a fun ☝️ one. The all mighty bottoms-up kettlebell press. Your shoulders and core will thank me. Plus working on stability bonus!
Holding a kettlebell bottoms-up is simple, but not easy. Rather than holding a kettlebell with the bell hanging below the hand, flip it upside down so the heavy portion sits above the handle and the horn sits on the meat of your palm. A bottoms-up kettlebell is inherently unstable, and therein lies the magic: to overcome the challenge, a greater number of motor units and muscle fibers are recruited. You'll feel the work in the muscles of your rotator cuff, lats, core, wrist and forearm during carries, presses, and more dynamic movements.
Instructions:
1. a standing position while grasping a kettlebell with a neutral grip in one hand.
2. Position the kettlebell in a bottoms up position and keep the elbow in line with the shoulder.
3. Press the bell overhead until the shoulder reaches full flexion and the elbow is locked out.
4. Slowly lower the kettlebell back to the starting position and repeat for the assigned number of repetitions.
5. Focus on squeezing the hand tightly, almost as if you’re trying to leave fingerprints on the handle.
6. Don’t allow the head to jut forward excessively.
7. Drive the bicep to the ear and exhale as you press.
8. If you sense any pressure in your neck or traps during the movement, look to address a lack of thoracic spine extension or shoulder flexion.
9. Keeping the elbows slightly bent at the top and not locking out entirely will help to keep tension on the shoulders.
10. If you can’t lock out the elbows overhead than it may indicate a lack of shoulder mobility due to poor scapular upward rotation.
Start with 3 sets of 5 on each side and go from there. You can always add weight or reps.

Happy Friday! Nothing like working 🏋️♀️on your fitness before the weekend. The week is almost done. Friday’s are always filled with smiles. 😁
It honestly just feels good to feel good!😁 This is me with no filter just being me. . This recovery journey for me has been a long one. I wish I would have put in the work before my injury to save myself all this pain. But in all honesty I have learned a lot from the pain and how to help others not suffer. Recovery is just as important as the workout. We really should be tuning up our bodies as much as we are pushing them to the limit.
Take some time to get a massage 💆♂️ or do yoga 🧘♀️ or get in a hot tub. 🛀 All these are always to car for your body. Most of all find reasons to smile. 😁 Joy is most important.

Happy or as I like to call it Tuesday. It’s Tuesday, which means we are past Monday. Plus we still have a whole week to conquer our goals. (And tacos 🌮)
The tip for this trainer tip Tuesday is keep your workouts fun. I swear by a workout buddy. They help keep you coming and accountable. Sometimes a little friendly competition can be just the trick. To livin up any boring work out or if you’re just feeling stuck. Sometimes just the reward of victory can make such a big difference. And of course a cheering section never hurts. It can be quite a good motivator. Plus as a trainer doing the workout shows your clients, class that you don’t just dish out the hard workouts but you do them too.
Sometimes just knowing someone else is in it just as much as you helps you push even harder. You are counting on each other to not give up. I swear by having a gym buddy. It helps you get up and go yo the gym and to stay motivated and want to get it done. No excuse when you have someone counting on you to show up. You give it all you have to when your friend is there to push you. Set a time and make sure to go together. It’s way more fun with a friend.

Happy ! We are so close to the weekend. That is something to celebrate.
Today I am so thankful. You can tell by the smile 😃 on my face. This is the life that I have made and now I can’t stop smiling. I can’t believe this is my life. It not big and fancy but I am giving back and help others be the best versions of themselves. This is the biggest thing I have done in my life. I am beyond grateful for this life. I am so thankful for all my sacrifices and all the forks in the road that lead my life to this moment. I chose this path and now all the sacrifices and all the doubts have finally been more than cleared. I have been completely paid back in full. My life is full of happiness and smiles like this. I quit my “big kid job” for following my passion. I have been thrown every curve ball been knocked down multiple times. I kept pushing forward knowing I made the right choice. And all my hard work and sacrifices have finally paid off 10 fold. I know I am in my divine path and I am being rewarded in pure joy. Follow your dreams and your true passion.

Happy ! We made it to the weekend. That is something to celebrate 🎉!
3 years ago today, I graduate with from my 500hr yoga teacher training. One of the happiest and saddest days for me. So happy to finish what I started but was so sad it was over. It was the best experience of my life. I have met some of my most favorite people through yoga. Yoga has changed my life in so many ways but most of all help me change my life and my clients lives. Getting to experience all the wonders of yoga and the impact it has on our lives.
Yoga is not just a fad. It not about being flexible, it’s about finding comfort in discomfort. Which is the same thing with life. We get to choose how we handle discomfort. Yoga helps us quite the mind so we can see the difference between discomfort and pain. They are two very different things. Discomfort is manageable and is not fun but you will get through it. There is beauty after discomfort. There is amazing thing on the other side of fear. We just have to push through, but not be forceful. Enjoy the journey and see discomfort is only for a moment. Good and amazing thing and feelings are around the corner. Yoga is about the practice not being perfect. Yoga is for everyone, you just have to find your teacher, or your space. But get comfortable in the discomfort.

Happy ! We made it to the weekend. That’s us something to smile 😃 about.
Today is small business Saturday. I work hard everyday to make sure that my clients/ friends are happy and healthy. Fitness is a journey not a destination. You have to take time and learn what works for you. It’s not a diet, or plan it’s a lifestyle change. You have to learn what works for you. It took you X amount of time to get here it will take time to get to where you want. But remember that fitness is a journey an exploration not destination there is no end point. It’s like building a friend or relationship with yourself. I am here to guide you to that place of euphoria and joy. So you are excited to exercise. I give you the tools 🛠 to love your body and want to move it.

Happy Sunday everyone. It’s a day to do whatever your little heart ❤️ desires. This is your day to do what makes you 😃 happy!
I have been reflecting on all that has happened this year so far. All the wonderful things I have seen and done. All the new lessons I have learned. This year has been so different. I got so far outside my comfort zone, even I am shocked. I have quit jobs, and moved a far distance before. Many time actually but I have never moved this far and to a place that I didn’t know anyone. It’s been a lot of soul searching and learning to love ❤️ the quite. Never have I learned how strong 💪 I can be. There was tons of times that I wanted to retreat and just go running no sprinting back to my comfort zone! But I stayed strong and I pushed on. Once you can see the light at the end of the tunnel you can truly be free. It’s so scary when you are in the beginning or middle of a change but enjoy the journey and finish strong. Anticipation is the biggest killer of dreams. It’s just a code name for FEAR. Don’t let fear stop you let it guide you. Listen to the fear but look around the fear and see what really is in front of you. You can do anything you want but you will have to work for it. Earn your life you want. Keep moving forward!

Sometimes the best way to see the world is to turn it upside down. I ❤️ getting inverted. Just for me handstands are so amazing and strong. I am taking my time to get better at them and even do a handstand walk.🤸♀️ Doing new things that make me feel so bad ass and powerful is so needed. It’s challenging myself to constantly be growing and improving. Handstands help me see the world in a whole new light. I ❤️ getting better and stronger.

Happy ! We are so close to the weekend, but there is still time to reach your goals. Let’s finish the week strong!
Its Thursday, I have so much to be thankful for. Sometimes I forget and take it for granted, but I am so lucky to have all that I do. I am so thankful for gorgeous days and getting to be outside. For the sun ☀️ on my face and the breeze in my hair. It’s truly amazing to feel so alive. Every breathe is a new chance to inhale all the good. Every little thing is a great reason to be thankful. We may not have everything we dreamed of right now, but it will all come. We just need to be thankful for this moment right now and all we have. This day what’s right in front of us.

Guess what day it is? It’s 🐪 day! Or as I lovely call it Wednesday! We are half way through the week. No better way to celebrate 🎉 than with a good sweat session.
We focus on strength and balance today. This is a yoga pose but is great for strength and balance. Plus helps so much with groin strength for my athletes. Horse Pose is a standing position that strengthens your quads, glutes and inner thighs. Holding Horse Pose also stretches your inner thighs. Getting on your tiptoes helped with calf strength and really test your balance.
How To Do Horse Pose
1. From a standing position step feet apart slightly wider than shoulders (sumo squat position) toes pointing outward.
2. As you exhale sink deep into a squat position. Bend knees 90 degrees and pull hands to chest sliding your shoulder blades downward.
3. Keep knees pointed over feet and tailbone tucked under body. Hold 30 seconds and breathe.
Option for more difficulty: lift one heel and hold for 10-15 second. Then the other. Or for added do both heels and hold for 20-30 seconds. This will test your balance. The deeper you squat the more your strength as well.
Duration: Do 20 to 30 seconds or for 8 to 12 reps. Repeat 3 times. Add them to your workout routine and see the difference. Give them a shoot. They are harder than they look.
