While you may not think a lack of sleep or poor sleep quality is a big deal, it actually is.

Studies show that inadequate sleep—less than seven to eight hours per night—leads to serious health risks, including obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and depression.

On top of that, drowsy driving is responsible for thousands of fatal accidents each year.

So the next time you hear someone brag about only sleeping four to five hours, remember—lack of sleep costs you much more than it’s worth.

According to The Lancet, a large portion of the population isn’t getting the recommended minimum of seven hours of sleep each night. And this isn’t just about being tired—chronic poor sleep is linked to increased risk of all-cause mortality.

But most high performers don’t think this applies to them.

They see sleep as a luxury. Something they don’t have time for. Or a trade-off required for success.

So they push through.

And because they’re still performing, they assume it’s fine.

But it’s not.

Under the surface, poor sleep is costing them more than they realize.

They’re operating below their true capacity—slower processing, reduced focus, less efficient decision-making.

They’re pushing through the day, but it takes more effort to do what used to feel easy.

And even when they try to disconnect, their system stays “on.”

Over time, this impacts not just performance, but how they show up in every area of life.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Sleep isn’t a luxury. It’s not a badge of honor to sacrifice.

It’s a requirement.

If you don’t make time for it, you’re already losing time—through decreased focus, lower efficiency, and slower decisions.

The real badge of honor?

Protecting your sleep like your performance depends on it.

Because it does.

As I share in Drama Free Health, true success isn’t about how much you can push through—it’s about how well you recover and take care of yourself along the way.

Setbacks are opportunities in hiding—you just have to look for them.

I’ve had nagging elbow pain that I kept ignoring… until last week when it got so bad that pushing through it was no longer an option.

At first, I was frustrated.
I’ve been focused on getting stronger and lifting heavier—and this forced an abrupt stop.

But at the same time, my Oura Ring started showing elevated resting heart rate and a cardio age 4 years older than my actual age.

That stopped me.

So instead of letting frustration take over, I pivoted.

Now I’m focused on improving my RHR and bringing my cardiovascular age down.

An opportunity I may have overlooked… if the setback didn’t force me to pay attention.

What opportunities are hiding in your setbacks?

Most people believe sleep is something that should just happen.

And when it doesn’t, they assume something is wrong with them or their sleep.

But sleep isn’t random—it’s predictable.

Your body is responding to your habits, your routine, and what you’re doing all day long.

If your sleep feels inconsistent, it’s not because your body is broken…
it’s because your inputs are.

If you want better sleep, don’t start at night.
Start with the other 16 hours.

You’re not a bad sleeper—you’re just inconsistent.

Curious—does your sleep feel random or repeatable?

Most people try to fix their sleep by guessing.

They try melatonin, magnesium, cutting caffeine, going to bed earlier, or the newest sleep gadget.

But sleep problems are rarely caused by just one obvious thing.

Sleep is controlled by multiple systems in the body, including circadian rhythm, nervous system regulation, and sleep pressure.

If one of those systems is off, your sleep suffers.

That’s why guessing rarely works.

You have to identify what’s disrupting your sleep before it can improve.

gave me H.O.P.E.

at the end of a beautiful day at the Edge Mastermind, Jen Gottlieb spoke about the power of our audience, and that when we have a mission, it is our responsibility to become visible- to share our message with others.

I've always struggled with authentic visibility- wanting things to look a certain way before I post.

Now I know that it is my duty to bring H.O.P.E to my audience.

To Help One Person Everyday.

Fat loss is heavily influenced by hormonal regulation — and sleep plays a central role.

Short sleep increases hunger signals, reduces satiety, lowers insulin sensitivity, and raises cortisol.

Before adjusting calories again, improve your recovery.

This is the power of raising awareness around your habits, making conscious choices, and trusting the process.

I'm so proud of my client for the incredible success she is achieving and the confidence she is building in herself!

She has big plans for her future and an even bigger heart. She knew that to become the leader she was meant to be, she needed to take her health and wellness seriously.

Together, we created awareness, developed a plan of action, and established accountability to ensure consistent action and trust in the process. She is now well on her way to being healthier than ever!

She wants to show her grown girls, the world, and especially women who think their prime is behind them what is possible!

I can’t wait to continue watching her achieve her goals!

Do you want to know the secret to embodying your ideal self—the healthiest and most incredible version of you?

Become passionately empathetic toward your future self.

What does that even mean? Simply put, it’s about treating yourself today in a way that supports the life your ideal future self deserves.

We’re often swayed by the temptations of the present moment, making decisions that can cost us greatly in the future. This focus on instant gratification causes us to lose sight of the big picture—our future selves.

When you’re disconnected from your future self, it’s easy to get stuck in patterns that lead to long-term consequences, especially when it comes to your health. But when you take the time to connect with your future self and get clear on who you want to be and how you want to live, everything changes.

You begin to develop empathy for your future self. You start making more intentional, conscious choices because you understand the long-term impact of your actions and habits.

And as you practice this empathy, you naturally begin to embody the person you were born to be.
Healthy, vibrant, and thriving.

Are you ready to connect with your future self and become the best version of you?
