So you want to see fat loss? Read on ⏬

You’re naturally going to ask yourself what you need to do to “lose the weight” - let’s change the approach and reverse engineer this.

It’s starts in the mindset and the way you talk about this. Instead of “losing” fat let’s focus on “helping” your body become efficient AF at the thing we want it to do to achieve your goal.

Building MORE MUSCLE & GETTING STRONGER put your body in this position to become a more efficient fat burning machine. So ask yourself, “how am I going to get there?”

In the simplest terms ⏩ LIFT WEIGHTS/WORK YOUR MUSCLES.

The more muscle you have that more energy it burns at rest. Muscle is an expensive tissue - this is the tissue you want to build more of if FAT LOSS is your goal.

Build muscle and eat to nurture that muscle. Work on habits that promote good rest & recovery. Your goals are definitely not impossible to achieve with the right strategy.

The gym & fitness is never going to do anything for you if you don’t attempt to improve your mindset & the relationship you have with yourself.

At the end of the day these things are here to help improve YOURSELF - to help you build your best you, but you’re putting barriers in front of yourself if you don’t address a s**tty mindset or self relationship.

Go into this journey to grow and improve just a little day at a time. Work hard but give yourself some grace when it’s needed.

I commonly as asked this very question:

“How do you stay motivated to workout consistently?”

My answer:
Most of the time (about like 75% of the time) I’m not motivated AT ALL. 🤯 That’s right.

What keeps me going consistently for the long haul are a few key though:

✅ I know I’m going to feel great after and that starting is just the hardest part. Once you’re in the door of the gym and you get your warm up started you’ll get into the flow of it!

✅I don’t beat myself up in the gym. I go in with the mindset that I’m practicing my movements and strength and just getting better each day at a time. I go in the feel good and put some time out of my busy day back into myself & my health.

✅ This one is by far the most important out of these 3 point - I mark my own gym time in my schedule and treat it as a mandatory meeting that doesn’t get cancelled. SHOW UP FOR YOURSELF. If you’re boss says there’s an important meeting you need to attend & your job is on the line if you don’t go you are most likely getting your ass to that meeting lol. YOU are the boss of your own life so get your ass to that gym meeting. Bosses get s**t done and attend their meetings. 👏🏽

Personally, once I stopped relying on motivation and started building practical discipline with my workouts that’s when it actually became much easier to maintain training consistency.

If you don’t know how to start I recommend starting with 2 days out of the week that you will commit and consistently show up to your workout. Once you have that down for about a month add on another day per week and keep that going until you have a frequency that works for you.

Don’t know where to start with your journey?

Here’s three things you could start doing TODAY that could help you out. Nothing radical and most definitely underrated.

Notice how none of these things say “stop” or “take away”

Add to the quality of your life. Let’s change the mindset. It’s more than the 3 month transformation, health & fitness is a marathon you run over the course of your life.

If you’re beginning, in all honestly give yourself a year. Patience, consistency, and hark work is key. 🔑

Trying to look trendy got me hella blisters on my feet. 😂

Thank goodness there’s a CVS at every corner of this city. 🙌🏽 My lungs also cannot handle this pollution but LIFE IS FU***NG GREAT. 🤩

Taking some well deserved time off from work, exploring NYC, drinking and eating really good, and having fun! 🥂
