Parker Byrd was a highly recruited high school baseball player when lost his right leg below the knee in a tubing accident just months before embarking on his freshman year at East Carolina University. Thanks to an Össur prosthetic grant, Byrd made history by becoming the first Division 1 baseball player with a prosthetic leg. He now aspires to compete as a Paralympian after completing his collegiate baseball career.
