September 30 2020
Hi Students,
So sorry, but it looks like no classes this year.
There is a chance we can restart next year. If so – March 15 will be the start date followed by April 26, June 14, August 2 and September 20 (pending San Diego Velodrome BOD approval)
If you would like a refund at this time, here's what I can do. I will have the San Diego Velodrome Association issue you a check less $20 for administration fees. I will need your full name and mailing address.

Summer Update from the SDVA 06/27/2020

Summer Update from the SDVA The San Diego Velodrome is slated to open for limited operations and restricted access on Tuesday June 30, 2020

06/19/2020

More updates:
SDVA asked the City:
"Everyone is asking me, and I don’t have an answer, so I am asking you, do you have any idea when we could open up for classes and races?"
Answer from City:
"Not sure but think this will fall under spectator issues and gatherings which is way down the list, stage 4.
I will go out on a limb and say not till next year."
So we will have to wait and see

06/19/2020

Hi Students,
Good news – the velodrome plans to open June 30 to individuals who are members of the SDVA. They must sign a new waiver and agree to the safety protocol set by the City of San Diego.

The BOD thinks that classes and workouts may be able to start in mid-July/start of August but with some safety changes. I will keep you updated.

This is from the SOCIAL DISTANCING AND SANITATION PROTOCOL - PARKS & BEACHES for the San Diego Velodrome:
"Velodrome will be providing disinfectant cleaning supplies and require our membership to wipe down all surfaces that they touch before and after every use. Signs will be posted throughout the Velodrome reminding the membership that disinfecting areas are required in order to use the facilities. No classes, races or group training sessions are allowed at this time. No pacelines."

If you need a refund at this time, here's what I can do. I will have the San Diego Velodrome Association issue you a check less $20 for administration fees. I will need your full name and mailing address.

There is a good chance we will hold two 6 week sessions. One with a start date of August 3 and the other September 21. If you are already paid, you will be able to choose which session works for you. Remember – this is not official just hopeful thinking.

And I am hoping the Thursday 9am workouts will return in August as well.

Hope you are doing well,
Pam

06/04/2020

I hope you all are doing good.
We still do not know when we can get back to classes but it will be at least a month if not longer. Here is a note from Sean Burke who runs Tuesday night racing and Wed, classes:

Without getting into the details, the velodrome can't currently meet city and county guidelines to re open. Folks are working on it, things are changing weekly, and here is a possibility that the track will open in some manner in about a month. Obviously that is a hope rather than a promise, and there may be restrictions for some time to come, but hopefully we’ll be able to get to the track and train. It would be nice to start racing in some manner soon after, but that may need to be adjusted as well. One of my thoughts is to start off with a month of Tuesday Night Training, with only A and B racers, possible field size limits, and no spectators. Then progress to racing from there and to race into October. We may be able to have spectators by then, or we may have to restrict the facility to racers and junior parents only.

The fact is that we have really don’t know what we will and won’t be able to do right now. But just know that I’m thinking about it, the SDVA BOD is thinking about it, and we all want to open up as soon as it’s safe and legal to do so.

COVID-19 Update 03/15/2020

COVID-19 Update Many facilities, events, and public gatherings have been canceled due to concerns over the Covid-19 coronavirus. So far there are a small number of confirmed cases in San Diego, and the San Diego County public health officer has prohibited "large gatherings" of 250 people or more through the end of....

Hi Level 1 and 2, (and my Thursday people too)
Cataract surgery went well so I will really SEE you all on Monday for class #5 which includes lead-outs (my favorite) and Italian Pursuits. The next week, November 4, is our last class #6 where we will re-time your flying 200 and learn some races.
(or for my Thursday people - a week from Thursday 11/7)
Looks like the make up class was lots of fun. I am sure you enjoyed something a bit different.
Starting November 11 Monday nights will be a workout. The first workout only will be a "transition class" meaning you can use our bikes and try it out.
The Thursday class will restart November 7 at 9am instead of 8

Hi All,
I can't believe it is raining again.
I will make the call later today if we have to cancel, but as of now I am planning to have class. I will be there for the kids class from 4 to 6:30 so will have first hand knowledge of the dryness of the track.
If we do have to cancel because the track is wet, I will hold another make up class on Sunday, June 9 from 6pm to 8pm.

Also, don't forget this Sunday is the make up class for last Monday.
We will open the trailer at 5:30 and start at 6pm. We are going to have a potluck dinner after class. Victor is BBQing meat - so if you eat meat and will be there, let me know so he knows how much to bring. I have had his BBQ before and it is yummy! Everyone else, just bring something to share.

I will be back in touch if we need to cancel,
Pam

04/29/2019

Hi Trackies,
There will not be an official class at the velodrome tonight but I will be there at 6:30 and hold an unofficial class as long as it stays dry. The weather report says rain at 8pm.
I will send an update at 5 if I am NOT going because of rain.

We will have a make up class on Sunday, May 12 from 6pm to 8pm. for everyone.
Pam

Dear Class,
You all were awesome! Thank you for paying attention and being safe.
I am sorry for being a bit off last Monday. My husband went through a 5 plus hour procedure on his heart - ablation for athletes heart to get rid of both his atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation. It was a long day! He is doing well and getting better every day.
On Monday, I will have the trailer unlocked. You can get your bike, pump the tires, be sure the seat height is right then get on the track as soon as the kids are off - about 6:35. We will start class at 7 sharp. Level 1 will learn how to warm up paceline on the track and everyone will get to do a flying 200. it will be a fun night.
See you Monday,
This session is full. Here is the link for the next session.
