The San Diego men's basketball team (12-9, 5-3 WCC) defeated Pepperdine (6-16, 0-7 WCC) on Thursday, 64-56, to earn its best start in WCC play since 2008.

The Toreros led for 33:57 and outrebounded the Waves 45-33.

The University of San Diego tennis programs officially unveiled their state-of-the-art $6.5 million facility on Saturday.

The Skip and Cindy Hogan Tennis Center and Lester T. Vesell Championship Courts feature eight resurfaced courts, a scoreboard, grandstands with chairback seating, and the first-ever clubhouse, which includes a locker room, a lounge, and a study area. The facility also features an athletic training room to service both home and away teams.

Before Saturday’s women’s tennis match, San Diego held a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedicated all eight courts.

Men’s Basketball Dominates on Glass to Defeat LMU, 70-65 - University of San Diego Athletics Holding a 39-27 advantage in rebounds, the San Diego men's basketball team (10-7, 3-1 WCC) defeated Loyola Marymount (7-7, 0-2 WCC) for its third straight win, 70-65.

After trailing by as many as 17, the San Diego men's basketball team (9-7, 2-1 WCC) mounted a thrilling comeback to defeat Portland (9-7, 0-1 WCC) in overtime, 68-63.

Senior forward Marcellus Earlington led the Toreros with 21 points and 10 rebounds, including 6-of-8 from the free throw line.

Freshman Wayne McKinney III compiled 14 points, a career-high eight rebounds, and three steals in the win. All 14 of his points came in the second half and overtime.

Junior Yavuz Gultekin notched his second double-double of the season, ending with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He grabbed six offensive rebounds, including three in the overtime period.
