IMO, the healthiest + best-looking version of ourselves over 40 needs more than the lowest possible number on the scale.
Everyoneās out here just trying to be as small as possible, but what about strong bodies, muscles, glowing skin, healthy hair, and enough energy to feel good every day? All of that requires food.
Constant dieting may help you weigh less, but it can also take you further away from how you want to look and feel. A balance can exist between weight loss and refusing to starve yourself to get there.
Do you agree?

If youāre training 4 or 5 times a week, working genuinely hard, and you still canāt lose body fat, look at your food over that same stretch.
I watch women put so much effort into their workouts while eating like crap, or just eating too many calories, and it makes me crazy because theyāre putting in so much effort for so little return. They workout to burn calories off, but workouts barely impact weight loss.
Take the effort you already put into your workouts and put it into your food first. Thatās what will finally move the number.
My free Fat Loss Formula Workbook walks you through your maintenance calories and the deficit that fits your body. Comment āFat Loss,ā and Iāll send it over. š«¶š¼

POV: You think youāre nailing the whole diet thing š
ā
But you still dread stepping on the scale every morning because itās been stuck at the same number for weeks.
ā
You forget to account for the handful of almonds (170 calories - easy), the ābiteā of the kidsā mac and cheese (90-100 calories for ¼ cup), and the second glass of wine on Friday night (150 calories - and letās be honest, most at-home pours are closer to 2x that).
All of those bites felt insignificant, but when you look at the numbers, they can really add up!
Iām not telling you to cut out everything you love because that goes against what I believe.
But youād be shocked by what actually tracking everything you eat in a normal day reveals about your caloric intake.
Your meals can be completely on point, but what happens in between matters, too.
I want to challenge you this week: track every bite you take and see what the data tells you.
[Hint: it will probably surprise you.]
You canāt fix what youāre not actually seeing. And tracking is the most effective way to make sure youāre in a deficit.
But how many calories do you need to be in a deficit?
You donāt have to keep guessing š
Iāll send you a free workbook to calculate your personal fat-loss numbers.
Exactly how much protein and how many calories your body needs in your 40s to stop stalling and start losing.
Just comment FORMULA š and Iāll drop it in your DMs for free.
The sooner you know, the sooner the scale starts moving again.
How can you tell if the weight youāre losing on a GLP-1 is fat or muscle? Two women can each lose the same 25 pounds but end up with completely different bodies.
The key difference is muscle, and if you pay attention, you can notice whether youāre losing it as it happens.
If your strength decreases in workouts, daily tasks feel harder, or youāre feeling physically weaker, then too much of the weight loss is coming from muscle.
Iām sharing this so you can catch it early, because after 40, maintaining muscle is much easier than rebuilding it.

For most of our lives, we were sold the opposite. . .
*especially* if you grew up in the 80s and 90s.
Raise your hand if these were the rules you swore by:
ā Cut calories - the lower, the betterāØā Go for a 5-mile run so you can have cake at the party laterāØā Hop on the elliptical the next day to āundoā itāØā Shrink.Shrink.Shrink some more.
Society wrecked our brains and tricked us into thinking that restrictive dieting was āthat girlā.
Iām so grateful for this generation of women in fitness who have woken up from that nightmare and know thatās not the way anymore.
Especially if youāre over 40, because with changing hormones and sarcopenia (the natural muscle loss that comes with age), building strength canāt be an option for you. Itās how you stay capable.
Our goal is to have a body that is strong, fueled, and can get sh*t done instead of just shrinking and taking up less space.
Itās a major identity shift once you realize that. Plus, itās so much more fun to be strong and fuel your body with good food. š
Share this with your bestie, your sister, or even your mom who might need to hear it.
Weāve been sold the idea that if you didnāt figure out your body in your 20s, you completely missed your chance.
Ew!
Iāll be the first one to tell you it is NOT all downhill after 40. In fact, Iād argue itās the best decade!
I have more core strength and definition at 45 than I ever did in my 30s, and Iām not special. I wasnāt built with great genetics, and I wasnāt completely lean in my younger days.
I DID get my fitness certification, and Iāve learned a lot since then, which is why I was finally able to build the strong core I have today.
And you wonāt see me apologizing for posting my progress pics.
Because Iām proud of how far Iāve come, and I want other women to know just how possible it is to get your dream body after your āprimeā era. (JK - this IS your prime era š).
& thatās exactly why I built the Strong Core Method.
āØFor women who are done believing that itās too late in the game and they canāt have their dream bodies. Because you absolutely can!
Itās 4 weeks, 20 mins a day, 3x a week, and made for how your body works after 40. I tell (and show) you exactly what to do, so if youāve never worked out a day in your life, thatās ok!
If youāre ready to stop believing you missed your shot, comment CORE and Iāll send it right over. šŖ
