November is a tough month for folks who lost their SNAP benefits. Let’s come together and give a little back to our community and neighbors. Food is life & everyone deserves to eat. I’ll have beers in the fridge for a post workout snack or if you want to just come hang on the couch for our session you can. Pay what you can, or just come to be together and learn some stuff about mobility. Let’s gooooooo!!!!!

Friendly reminder from your favorite neighborhood sadist that goals around fitness DO NOT (& I believe should not) have to be centered around aesthetics & definitely don’t have to be shame based. It’s not the devil if you want to change the way you look, but there are ways to achieve aesthetic changes without sh****ng on yourself or believing that you have to eat/sleep/breathe fitness. You can’t hate yourself into loving yourself more. Shaming yourself into a routine or result isn’t sustainable nor is it fu**in cool to do to yourself.
Creating goals, big medium or small, that are attainable and that you can stay consistent with are where it’s at. That is the ugly secret that everyone is looking for. It’s not a body building show, it’s not a 30 day six pack challenge. There is SO MUCH bu****it like this around the new year & these predatory advertisements are literally designed to make us feel inadequate. This is a story as old as time & it’s counterproductive in the long run. Finding/exploring movement you can reasonably accomplish weekly & enjoy (or tolerate) will set you up to build a more sustainable routine.
Here’s a little non toxic list of ideas to spark goals that can improve your fitness & wellness.
🔪 chase your first pull up
🔪 run a mile as fast as you can every week
🔪 train a movement you’re scared to do weekly
🔪 hit a volume PR on your favorite lift
🔪 hit a volume PR on your LEAST favorite lift
🔪 accumulate 3 hours of zone 2 cardio/week
🔪 add round back lifting to your training
🔪 run with your dog
🔪 bridge 2x body weight for 10 reps
🔪 find a workout buddy
🔪 slam a whiskey & PR your deadlift
🔪 have a floor party with a friend/partner & stretch
🔪 try a machine you’ve never used
🔪 have a TV series that you only watch during cardio
Feel free to comment more ideas below. Any bu****it will be deleted 🙂
