"THE GIFT OF DANCE Company and School/ began in 1983 ( with many dance styles) and the Ballet Folklorico Division began in 1999. Having danced in Italy, Mexico, Canada and the USA, this Company and School features students as young as 1&1/2 ( most start at age 3) and up to age 85. Both students and professional dancers bring the Joy's, comfort, diversity, colors, music, dance styles, flavors and delights of Mexican, Tex/Mex and European Dances to many families, theaters, events and communities. We were chosen exclusively with Native Americans to represent all of California in "California's 250 Year Centennial Anniversary Celebration" with Heads of State. We performed for/ with the late Mr.Rogers, and the late Joan Kroc and KPBS. A few of us danced for the late St.Pope John Paul II and Mother Teresa's memorial service. We perform in Old Town at least 4x's a year and for the Del Mar Fair since 1983. In addition, we dance for weddings and for many local and national community, television and News events. "Our Gift of Dance" Company and School's dances stem from traditional steps/choreography we were trained and inspired to learn under a Mayor from Mexico, with dance steps and costumes from the 1800's and are very much a part of our great, great, great grandparents' personal experiences, delights and entertainment, love, food, colors, faith and music of both our direct indigenous ( Native American) and direct non-indigenous (European, Texan, Irish, German, etc..) ancestors.

Our first day at our new Location went fabulously!!!

We will have some of you performing on Jan.10th for a WEDDING ( 9th floor, Library Building downtown: Arrive by 5:30)...
and then 2 of you joining Robert and I on JAN. 24TH, between 2 and 3pm. in 2-3 dances at the "Dance House" in Point Loma. We will pick those 2 students closer to that time. 😀

Robert still wants us to keep an eye out for a closer and larger place. Please let us know if you know of a place.
In the mean time, we'll have fun at ST ALBAN'S Episcopal Hall !!!

Lastly, don't forget our suggested donations for 2026 remains $34.50 X's 2 months= $69.
We still take $5 off for every sibling or cousin.

Parents that want to Dance with us are invited to train/join us for FREE!

So we are moving on... Our GIFT OF DANCE Company and School helps many hundreds of thousands of people enjoy , learn and feel the love of God via the Dances and Music of millions of people/ancestors, traditions and cultures. Over the past 27 years we were chosen to represent all Folklorico Dancers and all the Mexican/American peoples and traditions of California at "California's 250 Year Centennial"; we danced for Heads of State, heads of schools, churches, businesses and families ... and most importantly for our/your Families , schools , churches, friends, retirement homes, festivals, cultural activities/ parades, parties and much more! We are still featured in Old Town aprox. 4x's a year and in every Cinco De Mayo since 1999 and we have DANCED at the Del Mar Fair since 1982. For these past 2 years, we're truly blessed to have served up/offered our "Suggested Donations Only" Ballet Folklorico classes at St John of The Cross . Now, we will continue to meet up and teach our Dancers at St Alban's . This transition is such a huge blessing! We will miss StJC but we are too Blessed to be stressed! Call us any time! We are still thriving and sharing the blessings from above with Jesus 's Joys, healing Grace and pleasures found via His : "GIFT of Dance". Call/contact us any time. Before the day ends, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your and Mr. Robert’s willingness to perform at my work. The participants were incredibly grateful and it warms my heart to be able to share a piece of my family with them when they share their family with me ....
