Awesome facility and equipment. The gym is split into two for class WODs and open gym workouts.
Before we started, a fun and easy introduction was made about everyone in 5 AM class (this coming from a person who is an introvert). Very drop in friendly.
The coaches helped me out before and during the workout to better myself and my movements .
The people were friendly and just the right amount of competitiveness to push through the workouts.

We are so thankful to be back in the gym with a sense of 'normalcy' so like always we will be doing something to help members of our East Village neighborhood that are less fortunate than we are.

We often take for granted how lucky we are to afford a gym membership, have a warm bed to go home to and be surrounded by loving, supportive people like we are here at Bear Republic.

We will be doing our Annual Donation Drive for the Rachel Women’s Center on F & 8th Street that we run by almost everyday.

Their mission is ‘to provide a safe, supportive, sober environment and opportunities for women with few or no resources to gather, begin, and continue self-help efforts.’

Anything helps and many of the items they need can be purchased at a dollar store.

There will be a donation box in the gym by the cubbies until December 20th. Let’s show them how incredible of a community we are!

This year has been anything but normal, but if nothing else, I hope that it has made us especially grateful and appreciative for what we do have.

With the holiday season in full swing, we want to do something to help members of our East Village neighborhood that are less fortunate than we are.

Our 2nd Annual Donation Drive for the Rachel Women’s Center is now in full effect. Their mission is ‘to provide a safe, supportive, sober environment and opportunities for women with few or no resources to gather, begin, and continue self-help efforts.’

All donations are greatly appreciated! Anything helps and many of the items they need can be purchased at a dollar store. There is a box under the blackboard for donations!

Let’s show them how incredible of a community we are! Please make donations by December 20!

Saturday Recipes are back!

Things are starting to heat up out there! And this Avocado Pico Salsa will for sure cool you down!

Avocado Pico
Ingredients:
1 Roma tomato
¼ Red onion
1 Lime
½ Avocado
½ jalapeno
Cilantro
Salt and pepper

Directions:
1. The first step to making this absurdly awesome version of pico de gallo salsa is to wash ALL the ingredients, other than the salt an pepper, and yes that does mean the lime!
2. Next, chop (dice? I'm not up to date on my cooking terms) the onion tomato and avocado into similar sized chunks.
Finely chop your desired amount of cilantro, which can be none for those who dislike cilantro, and add that to the tomatoes and onions.
3. Then cut the stem off of your jalapeno, cut it in half and de-seed it. That is unless you're a psycho OR the pepper isn’t spicy enough for your burnt taste buds.
4. Lastly, squeeze the juice on top of the other ingredients and give it a good mix as well as a taste test. From there add your salt and pepper. Make sure not to add too much the first go around because you can always add more, but you can't take it out if you add too much.

*It is best to let the salsa sit in the fridge for around 30minutes so that the flavors meld together. Give it a good stir then serve with anything and everything.

Every year on the final Sunday of Pride Month, athletes across the globe participate in , a workout celebrating inclusivity and support of the LGBTQ+ community and those marginalized because of how and who they love.

One of our tenets is that “we are nothing without our community.” And that means more now than it ever has. The black community has been impacted by the endless slaying of innocent lives by the hands of those in power and we stand with them.

We call on CrossFit HQ to take a stand with us in support of the black community just as it publicly stood with the LGBTQ+ community in 2018.

Racism must end.

Discrimination must be addressed.

This year, a portion of proceeds raised for our "Infiltrate with Love" campaign will be donated to the National Black Justice Coalition.

First day back!
And we have a few updates.

Peep at our schedule and keep in mind that class size are capped to 15 people.

You must reserve your spot and reservations can be done 24 hrs in advance via Wodify.

There is a $15 cancellation fee if an athlete ‘No Shows’ or cancels within 12 hours of class time.

There will be a 10 minute grace period after class start time before your spot is forfeited and you will be charged the $15 fee.

If you do not reserve a spot and arrive to class that is already full, you will unfortunately not be allowed to participate in class and there will be no exceptions made.

We have temporarily added a 10:30 AM Saturday Class to accommodate more people.

Yoga will be on Sundays at 10 AM. Please bring your own mats.

Open Gym will be limited to 10 people and you must reserve your spots as well. 90 Min max.

Check-Ins will be completed via your phone through Wodify. Computers will not be accessible.

We our so happy to you Bears back in our facility and we appreciate all the support and your understanding as we navigate through these new guidelines!

Saturday Recipe:
Ginger and Garlic Roasted Carrot!

Ingredients:
• Whole carrots
• Large piece of ginger
• 3-4 cloves of Garlic (depending how garlicky you want your carrots)
• Avocado oil
• Butter
• Salt and Pepper

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 Degrees
2. Clean carrots to make sure there isn't any dirt or roots and remove the top leafy portion.
3. Peel the tough outer skin off the ginger and finely chop. For mine I decided to add some large thin slices of ginger on top as well because I love ginger and they caramelize and become oh sooo good after baking.
4. Finely chop your desired amount of garlic and throw it ontop of the carrots with the ginger.
5. Pour a generous amount of avocado oil (enough to lightly coat all of the carrots) and season with salt and pepper.
6. Give the carrots a good mix with your hands so that they are all evenly coated with all of that delicious garlic and ginger. Place a couple pads of butter on top of the carrots and bake for 30-40minutes or until carrots feel soft in the middle when stabbed with a fork.
