"Yoga invites you to engage life fully to become skilled at being yourself." ~Stacey Millner-Collins, E-RYT 500 I resolved to be my own true self.

I first stepped on a yoga mat the summer of 2004, in the heart of Columbia, SC. I was led to the practice by a desire to feel better and to find my true place in the world. I had been diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia and was having difficulty dealing with the many emotions and symptoms of the disease. I needed an outlet that would provide a safe, nurturing space for me to be in my own body

Portland, you've captured my heart. What a beautiful weekend it's been with my sweet love, , in this city he used to call home. Thank you, Jack, for walking me through your OHSU days and giving me even more reasons to love you. 🐼❤️ @ Portland, Oregon

This is my friend and student, Jason . He's one of those humans who makes this world A LOT better by simply being. He was interviewed by the one and only on the podcast about being and embracing your imperfect best. Yeah, I'm on there too, but you really want to tune in because what Jason has to say is meaningful and might strike a chord with you too. What parts of yourself are you doing battle with? 💙💜💙💜💙

"What would you do if you weren't afraid of looking imperfect as you did it?"⠀

This is the question that motivational speaker Jason Freeman asks his audiences all the time. It's such an important one, isn't it?⠀

Jason and his yoga teacher, Jamie Martin Lee, are my guests on the podcast this week and it's one of my favorite episodes. Jason struggled for years with feelings of unworthiness and frustration about the ways that cerebral palsy was limiting his life. He was tired of his speech impediment, of his coordination differences. He was dissatisfied with his body. ⠀

And then he found yoga, and everything started to shift. You can hear Jason tell his story at the link in my bio. And you also get to hear the yoga teacher side of the story -- so often yoga teachers are toodling along teaching, having no idea the profound impact they're making. ⠀

During this week when we celebrate love in the U.S., this episode reminds me of the healing power of loving whoever you meet for exactly who they are. Extend your love in toward yourself and out toward those around you this week. You never know what difference it could make. 👉Link in bio 👈⠀

. Thanks for sharing your story, J Free. ❣️❣️❣️

These last two weeks have kicked...my...ass. But never have I been more dedicated to my practice and grateful that it asks nothing of me except to show up and fully embody exactly who I am, without judgment or expectation, moment to moment, breath by breath.

My favorite part of this video is the shaking of my head and the overwhelming look of doubt on my face before I even attempt to get into the full pose. Ha! Seems like a running theme for me lately: counting myself out well before I've even tried. I'm ready to let that s**t go. Self doubt, take a hike, you as***le.

Another inspired by Billy. His music makes me so happy. Don't know why, but I know how it feels and I like it!!!!
