Thank you so much to SF Bay BIPOC Yoga Conference! and JoJo for having me. It is so nourishing to be surrounded by other BIPOC yoga teachers, leaders, and changemakers. I appreciate you allowing me to share my talk on Intersectionality: beginning the conversation on equity within the yoga world.
I learned so much from the workshops I attended, and am ever thankful for the connections I’ve made (we were so in the moment most of us didn’t even get a photo together!). Cheers to uplifting one another in this work, and I am excited for what the future holds for us each. ✨
It was also amazing to meet Anjali Kamath Rao irl finally!
Have a great second day today, and may the love you put into this be returned to you x 3 🙏🏽

🗣️ Calling all Q***r Desis in San Diego county! Do you ever wonder where tf we all are? Let’s change that. September 19th at 1 pm we gather at Azalea park to munch on some mirchi and get to know one another over what we do best: food!
The term Desi covers a broad range of identities, countries of origin and peoples, and we welcome All who resonate with the word.
TLDR: if yer brown and q***r, we want you here!
Come with yer favorite dish, snack, or drink that reminds you of ‘home’ (can be cooked by you or store bought).
Since this is our first meeting, we’ll do some ice breakers and get to know one another in a low pressure fun enviroment.
The intention of this gathering is to connect with folks who can make us feel seen and understood in ways only we could.

In light of the current protests in Azaad Kashmir that aren’t being televised nearly enough, I’d like to share this interview I partook in last year as a diasporic Kashmiri. I am so thankful to neha madhira 🧿 for writing this piece in a non-binary way. So many people claim to advocate for Kashmir yet still give into divisiveness or using our mother land to virtue signal without giving any actual Kashmiris a platform or voice. The reality for Imran Khan and myself, Vuzmal, is that Kashmir shouldn’t have to pick sides. Kashmir should be a sovereign state.
I know I am in the diaspora, and that means I have the privilege of not being in direct line of the violence. I only have a second generation understanding of the pain of what it means to be Kashmiri. But as I sit with that pain almost daily, I pray one day for a Kashmir where every single child of our Paradise on Earth regardless of caste, color, or creed can live on the land in peace. And if you weren’t aware of the protests please do research what’s happening. 🍁✊🏽🌞

Oh goody! Time for the crippling anxiety of hoping people validate me with likes so I get the dopamine hit I crave while the AI I didn’t consent to scrapes this and funnels it into a void where it will live as arbitrary ones and zeros!
Capitalism rewards
Love y’all
