STAR PEOPLE – EP.4 | JON VANDERMOLEN

The Star People series continues with Jon VanderMolen, whose life has been closely connected to the Star Class for more than four decades. From growing up around Stars at Gull Lake to sailing, building and restoring them, the Class has remained a constant part of his journey.

In this episode, Jon shares what makes the Star so special to him: the feeling of sailing the boat, the people around it and a history passed from one generation to the next. A lifelong connection that continues today through his work and the The Vintage Gold Cup ⭐️

There is a feeling Jon VanderMolen finds in a Star that is hard to put into words, a unique connection between sailor and boat, built over a lifetime on the water. He has been part of the Star Class since 1984, and that connection has grown into a passion that became both his life and his profession. From restoring classic Stars and giving them a new life on the racecourse to bringing their history to the Vintage Gold Cup, Jon represents the deep bond that exists between sailors and this class, and the spirit that keeps it moving forward.
